anyone know what this might be...

when im slowing down, like say to a stoplight, when i put the clutch in, and shift from 3rd, to 2nd to 1st ya know, just kinda stopping and gettin it into 1st to take off....well when i put the clutch in the rpm's drop...well lately, mainly today ive noticed it they kinda jumb back up...when the clutch is in and foot is on break....at first they would go maybe to 1K or 1,500K...but then it was going all the way up to 2K and i wasnt touchin the gas at all...and i mean watchin the rpm's made me think i had my foot on the gas, but Einst3in(Devin) can vouch...it was weird and i dont know whats going on.....if anyone has an idea why my rpm's would for no reason jump to 2K and then slowly go back down let me know...thanks

Eric
and if you know anything Jerry let me know, haha because if no one can help me here, its off to Continental im coming haha

sometimes if you are on the gas and let off, hit the brakes, the power booster will rob the engine of vacuum, and low rpm will result. the ecm will open the throttle to compensate, sometimes a lot! You can prob. duplicate it by using the brakes right after an engine load, or kinda during. Left foot braking will do it for sure.

yeah, well it usually does it, so i think its the fan cycle, but its never gone above 1K and it was going to 2K, it was honestly like someone was shoving down on the gas....so weird

You might also be noticing the increased idle speed due to the defroster (including the defrost/foot combo) being on. The feds made the car companies turn the AC on when the defroster is selected in order to "dehumidify" the windshield for safety. My car cycles when the defroster is on. My car does not have that large of a difference but I can definitely tell when it is on.

Hate to say it, but my damn thick rubber subaru mats have caused this a couple times :D 2K is a little high, If it keeps doing this bring it in. :)

yeah...today, i thought it went away, and then it did it again, it doesnt do it all that much, but it does it.....but i mean....is it normal, when sittin at a light, or chillin for a min in my driveway, for the car to be idling at 500, then go to 1k for a few sec, then back down....because it does that all the time, and then it just started doing it to 2k, but not all the time...i dont know, i have bad luck with cars or something haha, weird **** always happens... :/

first notch from 1k is 750, normal idle. normal opperation goes to 1k with a/c or p/s inputs.
