Yeah, I don't think I'll have any issues this summer. I use the auto setting because that gives me the best launch. I never drop the clutch, that's just stupid :alien:. I always slip it a little bit. Heh that guy with the STi that dropped it at 5k reminds me of Justin when he dropped his at 5k and broke the gears. I don't think dropping the clutch at 5k is a good idea :p .

-Wes

Yeah I know huh pretty stupid  :( . What a stupid thing to drop a clutch, and even that, a 6-PUCK clutch at 5000rpm. I tried to slip it, but I hear and can tell from experience it's pretty difficult. I had to much adrenalin when I was racing Paul that day at the track. To bad the 1st Ra gear couldn't handle it. But to no avail. Rebuilt the 1st sti ra gear and have an exedy clutch.

If you didn't know and I found out the hard way. 6 puck clutch + more horsepower = hard to slip 5000k launches = broken 1st "sti ra gear" = the SUXOR

If all else fails I'll just buy an Acura TSX and put my most favored gold rims on :p

Heh, slow down there Justin. I wasn't making fun of you man. I wasn't even there man, I heard the story from other people. I'm sure it is really hard to launch your car and I know what you mean with the adrenalin rush. I had the same feeling when racing a silver evo and that's when I recorded my best time. That guy dropping his clutch at 5k just reminded me of your incident. To agree with the rest of the thread that Jerry posted, I said that it seems pretty stupid to drop it at 5k. But I used to own a TSX and did about 60 launches last summer recording the fastest time for an STi on paper in Alaska, but what do I know lmao  I'm just ****ing with you Justin, I hope no harm was done. You have a hot car, hope to see you at the track this summer with everyone else :)

Oh you owned a TSX, I forgot. 60 launches that's a lot. Fastest Sti time on paper in Alaska that's awesome. Don't know what that had to do w/ anything we were talking about, but I guess I'll add I ran a 12.90 at 106.8 last year on my 1st run boosting at 17.5. I hear trapping at 106 on 1/4's is good for 12.6-12.7 runs. I think I would have got it last year but as you know I broke my 1st gear w/ the six puck on my 2nd run. I agree it is pretty stupid to drop a clutch at 5k, but man adrenalin along with the 6-puck got the best of me and I was "trying" to slip it.

Ah shoot I'll just sell my WRX and instead of buying a TSX, I'll just buy a STI to be .1 seconds faster than my WRX or "maybe" even slower ;)

Mayn, Wes no harm done. We just bullshizzin with each other. I hope no harm done as well. On the real though that's awesome you got your 12.8ish 1/4 time. Yeah, "hopefully" I'll be at the track this summer, cause I know I can be faster, but just a little nervous of breaking something again :o DOH!

Heh, only reason I brought up my launches and time was becuase you brought up my previous car, that you were making fun, but whateva :p. Yes, a lot of us are hoping for a faster time this year ;) Hope you can make it out when the time comes.

Okay, why not PM about this stuff? We all know that Justin is a very capable driver and a very capable mechanic, and that the death of his RA tranny was due to the stiff 6-puck race clutch that he was running (and yes, I was there when it happened). And TSX's are sexy in their own way, and Wes ran a 12.8 with just a turboback and a boost controller on his STi. Did I miss anything? See you suckas at the track ;)

Smart man. You should have started another thread or PM's him about his driving deficiencies. 6-puck clutch and you were surprised your first gear blew up. Funny guy. Don't be a thread hijacker or be the smart guy like Sparky and PM. :)

Oooh scary! I love your thread post! You don't have to be a smart a$$ and post something like this either ;just because you are a thread moderator. (Gock)

I just had to clarify that Wes wasn't making fun of me blowing my 1st gear. Yeah, I am still a newbie on certain things, I didn't know 6-pucks were that strong. I could have cared less who read those post. I mean it for Wes and I.

How about start this new thread my car is faster than Winslow's wrx was...sorry not hating just a little upset u had to throw that corny "thread line". Or if it's so bad I hijacked the thread why don't u just delete the thread

Good moderating Winslow! You could just left it up to sparky's comment.

For reals you too, I acutally asked about u at the January meet. Have any tips on how to learn how to drive. Apparently Winlsow must make me look stupid to prove a point that I thread jacked. Wes and I settled it plus Sparky topped it off.

I wasn't trying to be scary. I was just trying to get your attention and it worked. I can see you have a complex and misunderstood my :) but I'm getting tired of seeing people hijack threads. I really wouldn't mind this happening but it's been happening alot. I guess you're just the example. Don't be offended by the "corny thread line" but every person that I've done that to has been a thread hijacker like yourself. The least you could have done was respect AK*WRX*2004's thread and carry your conversation elsewhere. Don't be a tool, Be a man :)

On second thought, if you run over squirrels on the road, try to run over their heads. That way the tails will stick straight up in the air.

I don't know what Type R's can do in the 1/4 or what they trap at, at certain times. But I do know from reading a couple of threads and from what some seasoned suby owners tell me is that traping at 106ish for wrx's should get you in the 12.6-12.7. Hope to meet you sometime dude.

Dude, if I hadn't just found out that it's gonna be another 4-5 weeks until my Version 7's come in (which I put a deposit down on in November), I would be in a much better mood. Oh, and shipping on them (since they're most likely coming with tires) is going to be terrific too!

I can feel your pain Matt and it seems like the guy that has ordered a lot of parts for his car as well would be a little more understandable. Shipping up here is a bitch. When ordering rims and tires might a well take on $350.00 to the price right off the bat for shipping

At any rate, I'm looking forward to a little JDM bling too. JDM=long wait=high price=high shipping...but it also =bling, so I can wait a little longer for something special for my car. I'll see you suckas on the street!
