Just a quick question - how do you quantify how successful the WRX 2002 is? Is there a site where we can see units sold vs. Subaru's expectation before launching?

well, when many dealerships (at least in my area) have had 10 sold before the cars were even on the lot... I consider that a success...

I heard they are already starting to develop the 2003 model of the WRX let's hope it's better than this year's model because this year's model is hot and it could only get better.

I am not trashing the WRX, just doing a research here - may be the same scenario where dealer pre-sold XX numbers of WRX doesn't apply across the country.

Just a quick law of supply & demand implementation here - if the demand is so high, do you really think people, such as myself, can buy the car only couple of percents above dealer invoice, below MSRP, and with options at invoice? BTW, I didn't even have to wait on the WRX, got the color, style I liked. I am sure I am not the only one.

How reliable is the pre-sold number given by the dealer? That might be just the initial stage as well.

Thanks for the info.

The pre-sold number is for everyone who ordered one before March 15th.
