Has anyone experiences stress related cracks in the windshield? I got into my car this morning and saw a 6 inch crack that wasn't there yesterday.

The only time I've ever had a crack on any windshield was after a rock hit it. It would start out as a little spot where the rock hit, then slowly spread across the glass. It was particularly quick in cold weather.

You may have had a rock hit the glass, and not seen where it started. I'm just guessing, though.

The dealership is going to take a look at it today. Hopefully it'll be under warranty.

Someone taught me a trick to finding out if it was caused by a rock - take a pen or sharp pencil, and run it along the crack. If it falls in at any point, it was a rock.
