ive asked several people their opinions and i wanted to throw this to the nasioc community to see what i get.

while driving the battery light flickers and the brake light stays on.

leading to this, what happened is on a cold day i was on my way to drop off my car at the shop. and lately ive been having squeaky belts. but this day was different, it wouldnt really stop, so im driving, and the batt light and brake light come on. i was like, ill have it checked when i get the car back. so i get the car back and the battery is dead. i get a jump from the shop, and they said they tightened my belts and it took care of the squeaking and probably that was why i had the lights come on cuz the alternator wasnt charging the batt anymore.

but now im stilll getting the occasional batt and brake light more often than not.

some say it will go away when the system resets. some say get a new battery.

here is some mods related to the whole mess
-relocated battery to trunk with double 0 guage + and -
-optima yellow top battery
-some module to increase alternator output or load i forget
-lightened wheels crank pully alt
-new belts

any info or leads would be appreciated.
i figure i would have thrown a CE light before a brake light :)

CEL won't come on with Brake Light. The brake light comes on when your running low on brake fluid in the master cylinder.

As far as the battery light, normally means theres something going with the alternator (or battery). Most cases the voltage regulator in the alternator is shot, so it no longer charges the battery.

I would try and remove the module you installed to increase the output or load, and see if the battery light still comes one.

It could also be the alternator pulley you put on. I knew a go with an STi a while back who was having problems with the alternator. He had it checked out (without the pulley on) and it was fine. He put the stock pulley back on and everything worked fine again.

Just a couple of things to try.

Did you run a ground from the battery to the body? The stock battery neg. cable has a 10 gauge cable going to the radiator support. I've seen loose connections at this area cause problems. If your battery is in the trunk, I suggest running a screw into the trunk floor and putting another neg cable there.
