If so...what did you do with Immobilizer in the ECU....or did you bypass it...if so how??? just curious...I havn't seen a Hydra on a 05 yet..and I am thinking that the immobilzer is why...

Thoughts and comments???

First off I just want to thank Phil of Element Tuning for making a great product and having great customer service. I was having problems with my hydra because i have an 05 STI and the immobilizer system was causing the car not to start. But Phil personally found the problem, made the new harness, and came out to my house to fix my hydra and make sure everything ran fine. The car pulls very hard with no hesitation and the difference is just amazing. Spoolup is instantaneous and the sound from the Perrin big maf is loud and can definitely hear that turbo spooling. I am very happy with my setup and my car has never run better. I've owned a UTEC before on my old WRX, but I am more pleased with the hydra and would reccommend it to anyone.

When the factory ecu is removed the immobilizer is disabled.

Thanks,
Phil

I have it runing on mine works great. A non-issue with Phil's Hydras. I can tell you the immobilizer IS an issue if you get an 05's ECUTECK flashed and they resend you a different ECU. Don't ask how I know this...

Thanks Phil...preciate the feedback....You say the immobilizer is disabled on the 05...hmmmmmmmm....wonder if a 04 ECu will work in place of the 05...with no immobilzer...probably not...because the code is stored in ECU in order to get the car cranked...so no code no crank...and no cruise...

just checkin my options ...

Bill,

An 04 ECU will not work in your car not only because of the immobilizer but also because it's a different ecu with many wire harness changes. They are not interchangable. Element Tuning offers an 05 specific Hydra for your STI.

Thanks,
Phil
