My understanding from the consensus of the forum and per the directions in the Defi EGT pack is to place the EGT sensor in the manifold. But after getting my car back from a tuner, I find the sensor in the top of my PDE down pipe. Should I make a stink about this and get them to patch my down pipe and relocate the sensor to the manifold? This is what I am most likely going to do when the shop reopens on Monday. Trial by fire I guess, I needed to be more assertive to have made sure they understood where to place the EGT sensor despite it seeming that the manifold is the location of choice.
Input would be appreciated, thanks.

I don't have an EGT, but have been doing research on getting one. From what I've read, the DP or the manifold are acceptable. The manifold seems to be more accurate but harder to install the EGT probe. This is what I've read. Good luck and post what you find out.

The EGT probe should be installed in the manifold. This is where you will get the most accurate readings for the sensor, it is best placed 2" from the third cylinder on the manifold passenger side, mainly because it is the cylinder that runs the leanest when in operation. Or it may be placed on the driver side in the Casting flat spot on the stock manifold (Header) if you desire. ;)

Thanks for the feedback. I am dealing directly now with the shop that did the install. They are very nice, and feel really bad that the install was not done the way I wanted. The guy who I was going through from the dealer is out of the picture and is the one who OKed the DP install of the EGT. A lesson learned in never assuming things are being done the way one wants.
