View Full Version : words about sugar
SilverSuby 04-17-2001, 07:11 AM I just have one thing to say about sugar:
The way customer service should be done. Pleasant, no hassle, attentive, listened to the problem, and fixed it. A perfect 10 in customer service.
trojan9x 04-17-2001, 07:17 AM here here
well said
WRXPRESS 04-17-2001, 07:39 AM I totally agree. Totally professional and incredible service.
She's a nice person too.
gtguy 04-17-2001, 07:51 AM Roger that, gang. She's taking a bit of a beating because of the STi engine/tranny mounts GB that's gone awry, but none of the holdup is her fault.
Every time I have dealt with her, she's been fantastic, and fast. I generally have my stuff within 2-3 days of talking to her.
I have a very short vendor A list, and she's on it. So are Rallispec, Dale at Teague's, iSR, Dave@DMS, and Stromung.
Kevin
STiShawn 04-17-2001, 09:11 AM Awesome person to buy from, fast proffesional and has great prices. Keep it up Lisa!
ChosenWon 04-17-2001, 09:20 AM I agree as well. She is great. We had a difference of prices, at one point, she quoted me a price and about 3 weeks latter I went to order the part, our prices did not match, and she had no problem going with my lower price. Keep in mind the price on the part was already about %30 lower than anyone else I contacted. If I cannot get it though Sugar, I probably won't get it.
MagicMT 04-17-2001, 09:23 AM I'm getting worried... I ordered a model car on Feb 22. She's not giving me updates. And she's ignoring my PMs.
Frank 04-17-2001, 09:27 AM im sure she's not ignoring you, she's just realllly busy. DOn't forget selling stuff to i-clubbers isn't her only job.
MagicMT 04-17-2001, 09:29 AM Yea that's true. If she wasn't as reputable as she is on I-club, I'd be REALLY worried. But since pretty much everyone on I-club says she's great, I'm only a little worried
yep i agree.. 10 out of 10 for part dealer rating
BrianR 04-17-2001, 09:38 AM Yup, she's awsome.
MagicMT- Send her another PM, i'm sure she's just busy.
BrianR
donjuan 04-17-2001, 09:39 AM I'm pretty sure she's some kind of fairy or something. She can't be real http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif
Seriously, I honestly think she is the single best customer service person I've ever dealt with. She is THE source for OEM parts and a very good source for some aftermarket and specialty stuff.
MagicMT 04-17-2001, 09:43 AM Just PMed her. Hopefully she's not too busy to reply this one.
grimlock 04-17-2001, 09:43 AM Yup, she's excellent. And the fact that I live about 20 minutes from the dealership is just icing on the cake. And a real drain on my wallet.
Ross N.
SilverSuby 04-17-2001, 10:08 AM Magic - just give her a call. I had asked her to look up some parts and stuff via PM too, but if you try calling her you'll have to wait to even talk to her. I'm sure she'll get to the PM's sometime next year.
She's the best, just give her a buzz. She's got a cool accent too. Gotta love them southern women [at least the way they talk]!
RacerinLSL 04-17-2001, 10:40 AM I just got my clear corners from her, and quick I might add. So in my thank you email, I asked how much she could get me a new passenger front fender for(damn trees). I was shocked to find she was going to get it to my door 20% cheaper than local dealers. Keep in mind, she's in Georgia! Much business coming her way in the future, that's for sure!!

J Colman 04-17-2001, 11:14 AM I agree, she makes it a pleasure to spend money
goose 04-17-2001, 12:21 PM Indeed- wonder when she's going to do a turbo group buy... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lildevil.gif heh heh..
Hashiriya 04-17-2001, 12:25 PM Over rated
Hashiriya 04-17-2001, 12:30 PM she's been posting with her 'other sales' posts almost everyday but totally ignores this: http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/Forum2/HTML/003998-7.html
gtguy 04-17-2001, 02:39 PM As I posted in that other thread, I presumed silence to be an absence of news, but I confess to not needing a vendor to tell me "Nope. Nothing to report. Still don't know."
Sugar rules, I say. That STi mount buy is a fluke, as the hordes of satisfied customers can attest to.
For her own sake, I hope she isn't using the same guy for the STi pedal set buy. He seems to have bad Customs karma.
Kevin
Sugar is definitly one of the "A" list vendors on this board. The customer service and speed of ordering is excellent.
Hashiriya - I understand that first impressions are hard to get over, but don't judge Sugar by one GB gone bad. You are blaming her for circumstances that are beyond her control, she stated from the beginning that the mounts would not be ordered until the group buy was done. Now that they have been ordered it's not Sugar's fault that customs is taking their sweet time. Sugar hasn't abandoned the GB, I see that she posts every few days to make sure everyone knows that she is still working on it. Remember it was you who wanted to save the $5, even if it meant you had to wait. If the $5 wasn't that important you should have just ordered them from whomever had them in stock. Also, Sugar doesn't sit on this board "full time" to cater to our needs, she has a parts counter to work as well as offering the i-club members great prices and service.
Keep up the great work Sugar!
jagcars26 04-17-2001, 03:32 PM Ok ill chime in too,,excellent in all ways, nice person too.I think i got the last set of version 5 springs in the country from her.lol
Magic, Lisa s had a prob with her die cast vendor.Just call her , I was waiten since Dec for mine.
Rudy
mpaone 04-17-2001, 03:47 PM Lisa already knows what I think about her... I see her once every couple of weeks to pick something up!http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif

Gerry 04-17-2001, 04:51 PM I think Sugar would be even better if she accepted PAYPAL.http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif..Gerry
Suba-RAW 04-17-2001, 06:56 PM I think Greg555 and especially Hashiriya should be reprimanded for their total disrespect to Sugar, and disrespect to the other members of the board for having to read their crap. Yes, this is a flame! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lildevil.gif (forgive me moderators) No one needs to hear your immature rantings about how she's done you wrong. Do what everyone suggested, call her and I'm sure you will get answers to your questions. You think she singled you out personally? She sure should in the future.
Let this thread be a testament to Sugar's great works and dedication to the club and ALL members in it. Her customer service is impeccable, prices are great, speed is unrivaled. The fact that she is even responding to your rantings is saying a lot. I'm surprised the moderators haven't banned you from posting. I thought there were supposed to be some kind of rules about respect on the boards and to members of this club.
I encourage everyone that has had dealings with Sugar to post in this thread. I know the good reports will far out-weigh the bad.
I think I speak for everybody when I say, We love you Sugar! Keep it up! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif
Peaty 04-17-2001, 07:13 PM I know I've said it before but I've probably have been dealing with Lisa longer than most people. In 97 I started ordering stuff from her when we got our Outback. I've never had a problem. She even goes out of her way to help. When I do my mod stuff I call and ask her to look up stuff and she always finds the time to give me a hand.
As far as her getting PayPal , I think it's a good idea too buy you have to remember that she works for a regular Subaru Dealer. Most (not all) Dealers aren't progress enough to even deal with internet orders let alone PayPal. I'm sure it's hard enough for to keep track of stuff now that may even complicate things.
As far as the GB stuff, I'm sure she feels really bad about not being able to get the items out. I can see not being happy about not getting the items yet but you really can't blame her for stuff that is not in her control.
Peaty
godzilla1 04-17-2001, 09:30 PM Yes, I must agree. Lisa, aka Sugar, has bent over backwards for me. Not only have a I recieved all of my items fast, but her prices are almost half of what other people charge. One time, I asked her about the clear side-marker lights. She directed me to a guy in Canada who sells them for $32, even though she could have sold me a pair from her work or affiliate for + or - $100! I have talked to this Southern bell and asked her questions about where to get stuff or how to do something and she stops what she's doing and gets on the internet. Then, she either calls someone or something but pm's me within 5 min. with an answer. The only problem that ever happened was when I placed an order with her she forgot to take my credit info. I immediately called her back and gave her my info. That is how much she is a genuinely good person she is. She really is not just in this for the money. Sugar is a gift from above. I would recommend her to everyone. Lisa, thanks for all the help, I hope this will help you as much as you have helped me.
ImprezedRS 04-17-2001, 09:41 PM Well i guess it is my turn to jump in here, I have to say that i have only oddered one thing from her which was the 20mm FHI rear sway bar for $80 shipped now that was cheap and it came to my door really fast, I still think that she is the best and I always give her a call or pm(which takes a while for her to get back on) about things before i buy from anywhere else and she allways has the best price. If i actually had some money to buy stuff it would be in her hands right now with the prices she offers who can resist, and as fo that GB on the motor mounts, it is out of her control and customs is the one you should be complaning to and saying bad things about not Lisa aka sugar
[This message has been edited by ImprezedRS (edited April 17, 2001).]
mykrrrr 04-17-2001, 10:00 PM I too have had VERY good experiences with Lisa.
I've ordered a FHI 20 mm bar, a dual cup holder & trunk light kit from her.
I got them VERY quick and without any hassles.
I didn't get the SB bushings with the bar and she overnited them to me so I could get the bar on ASAP.
Guy - the STi mount GB will work out. Have some faith in her.

SilverSuby 04-18-2001, 07:08 AM Well, I certainly did NOT expect this when I started this thread, but I can't say that I'm disappointed.
Lisa [Sugar], if you're reading this....I'd like to say THANK YOU for all of your great work for us here on i-club.
Way to often we take people like her for granted and don't even bother to say thanks....so this is a big TY from i-club!
donjuan 04-18-2001, 09:44 AM On the STi mounts--people, keep in mind sugar works for a regular Subaru dealer. Now I could be wrong, but I dont' think the STi mounts are a regular SOA part that you can just order up at any dealer, which to me means Lisa went over and above her normal job to try to get these. Try going to your local subaru dealer to get them, they'll tell you "they aren't a part we can get, sorry." I also think i remember that the payment was to be made Lisa directly, meaning she may have very well put some of her own cash on the line to try to get the GB going. To me she was trying to do the I-club a favor IN ADDITION to what she normally does as THE source for OEM parts and accessories. I hope the bad luck and negative comments from the GB will not deter her from doing so in the future.
EDIT--I also offer a big THANKS to Lisa once again. I wish my local dealer had a parts person 1/2 as good as she is.

OK, I must chime in here because of Suba-RAW. I think everyone has the right to their opinion. Granted, it does seem a little bit much, but they were expecting something and haven't received it yet. I too am on the list for the GB and am very unhappy about it. There were some dates thrown around, but they were nowhere near the actual. I do understand it is out of her control, but it is still her responsibility (think management here). As for not updating us, if someone asks for an update, she should respond as communication is the key. She is on the board more often than the few posts she has made. I feel much more comfortable knowing that she does not have any new info rather than "no news is good news." I have ordered from her before and am very pleased with the service, but that does not make it alright to neglect these GB participants. Why is it so hard to repair a bad reputation, but everyone jumps down the throat of someone posting about a bad experience with a known good vendor? Personally, I still intend to buy future products from Lisa, I will just have this in the back of my mind. I guess the whole point of this is please people, listen to these complaints and take them for what they mean to you and your purchases. Don't just start bitching at someone that had a bad experience that you have not. Sorry for the lack of cohesiveness in the post.
Christian
