you gotta know your car is very diff. from a honda...

i would say you make power by getting EM, adding/removing some fuel + adding/removing timing + add boost to make more power

not some NA machine with advancing timing to make a little more power...

this is not true... we do have cam gears.

but we also got AVCS to advance and retard timing. so you don't need an adjustable cam gear to adjust the timing.

sorry, let me rephrase....we don't have adjustable cam gears like hondas which you manually adjust.....we have VTEC (I mean AVCS :p )

AVCS only advances the intake cams. It does not retard timing ever. In Japan they have AVCS on the intake and exhaust but in the US so far we only get intake advancment. You can purchase adjustable cam gears to manualy adjust your cam timing from several companies including JUN.

Well since it can move the cams back to "non-advanced" position, wouldn't that be retarding the timing in a round-about way?

We don't have VTEC, we have the "i" in i-VTEC.

It would not be retarding, Clark (kingpin) is correct ... 0 is base timing and anything above that (+) is advanced and below 0 (-) is retraded. AVCS advances then goes back to the base timing. Does not retard the timing. + 0 -

Yeah, I know. I was just being fecicious (or however it's spelled). I do imagine at some point we'll see Dual AVCS here.
