I have a 2004 WRX that had been reflashed with an Accessport. I decided to sell the Accessport and get an ECUTEK reflash instead with custom tuning. Now that my ECU has been unmarried from the Accessport, I am getting very weird dips in my RPMs when slowly coming to a stop. I will easily stall 1 or 2 times per day now. The way I understand it from looking at other posts, the Accessport does not reflash the ECU with the map that was originally shipped from Subaru. It basically reflashes the ECU with Cobb's own "stock" map. Now what I'm wondering is this: Does the ECUTEK reflash blow away all traces of Cobb's map? I would hate to have the stalling issue after getting a custom tune. Or is my only other option to buy a new ECU from Subaru?

If you are sure you unmarried the AP from your ECU but have stall issues, can you bring your car to the dealer and pretend you know nothing about why the car stalls? I read from Cobb's website that the dealer is unable to detect you have AP married and even now you have it unmarried. Not sure if it'll work though...

Well I've heard that the dealers themselves do not have the technology to determine if the ECU has been reflashed. However, I really like my dealer as they have been really good to me in the past so I'd rather not do anything sketchy just to get a good ECU. As long as the ECUTEK flash can overwrite whatever the Accessport has done, then I'll be a happy camper.

I expect the UTEC will overwrite all -- can't see how it would work otherwise.
But somebody who knows for sure will chime in soon.

Probably ECUTEK flash will overwrite, but not all, on whatever the AP has done.
AP is capable of adding a new section on the ECU ROM for the real-time map. Now, I know if ECUTEK flashed your ECU, your ECU should perform according to ECUTEK's map, etc, but I'm not 100% sure if any other part of the ECU's memory will act against your ECUTEK flashed section, or ECUTEK will somehow reference to that section which contains AP old data if not previously removed completely.

Well I just got an email back from Scott B. at KTR Performance and he confirmed that an ECUTEK reflash will overwrite all of Cobb's "stock" map. I am sooooo relieved right now!
