Couldn't find any other pics or experiences of folks with the Ultimate Racing GT35R kit and a front mount other than theirs. We're still working on this car so we don't have numbers yet. We're trying something new that I think folks will like. Here's a hint - it will have a 4" inlet all the way to the filter.

So having said that, the kit quality is excellent. The welds are very nice and for the most part stuff just fits. I had to do a lot of wiggling and head scratching to get the intake stuff just right, but it all comes together nicely. The CAI is a nice touch.

The kit fit the TXS FMIC pipes pretty much as is. Only change needed is to take the pipe that comes out of the passenger side fender well, and make it come out of the front hole, not the rear hole (that's where the intake goes). As a result, that pipe needs to be rotated. At first I just cut it in half and used a silicone coupling to rotate the two bends relative to each other. Then we had a ghetto piece of mild steel bent to fit right.

I also cut the top pipe that goes into the TB and added a coupling to make it fit a little better. The pipe fit fine without doing that, but it rubbed on the underside of the hood a bit. With the coupling and some extra flex in there, there is no rubbing.

We are having some custom pipes fabbed up to re-route the pipes and keep them away from the hot side of the turbo, but that's not the primary goal.

Here are pics of the setup:

NICE! glad to see you finally ditched the sr50 and moved up.

unfortunately, due to my upcoming marriage (where i have to pay for the wedding), the splurging on my car has come to a screeching halt :(

so ill be vicariously living through you. ;)

the kit we are working on right now (rotated mount) has a full size 4" inlet...

its going to be different depending in EM...hydra should be cool, full 4" inlet...

we are working on a silicone inlet pipe...but i have concerns of it collapsing..

the UR kit and kingpin kit are both very nice bits!

cheers

This one (god willing :p ) will be running a 4" inlet with a UTEC. :)
I'll start another thread on that once I have more numbers and such.

awesome, let me know how it works out for u...

we were planning a smooth transition 4" to big maf sized inlet....

but if guys want to tune with a 4" (utec, not just hydra) thats an easy option..

awesome!

Is your stock inlet hose still there :p . Anyway, the kit looks good.. hope you make some big power!

Yes, I was too lazy to take it out since I couldn't get to the one allen bolt due to the hard lines being in the way. :)

I'll be taking the intake manifold off to do intercooler pipes and TGV deletes soon anyway, so it'll come out then.

Thats a big turbo. How is the lag on the GT35r?

I would find it imperative to use mandrel bends on every piece in this kit. I guess this is just a prototype?

That pipe didn't come with the kit - as I said in the post, I just had a ghetto pipe bent up to get it hooked up and to show that it fits. The kit fits the stock TMIC (or any other TMIC) as it comes from Ultimate Racing. They also have a front mount package which I believe has everything you need to bolt the turbo to their front mount pipes. Since I had a front mount already, I just made it fit. I'm having pipes made which are all mandrel bends and which completely re-route all the pipes to significantly shorten the distance and volume of piping.

Lag is not bad at all. Full boost by 4000 RPM in 3rd gear, and if you're anywhere north of 4000 RPM it spools immediately. It's an extremely streetable setup.
