Ok, so here's my problem. Somehow when installing my boost gauge I got some liquid on the clear plastic covering my primary gauges and it left what looked like water spots only they wouldn't come off using glass cleaner. I could rub them off with a fingernail so I figured some plastic scratch remover and polish would work. So I get some Blue Coral Plastic cleaner and polish. Used it on my headlights and it worked great. So I used it on my cluster and it seemed to work. It's the type you rub on then buff off so it makes white dust like a car wax would. I did a second application and it's almost back to new. The trouble is this: some white dust made it's way past the trip odometer button and piled up inside the cover where I can't get to it. Can the cluster be taken apart or is it sealed to prevent tampering? Thanks for the help!

yeah, just like in that thread you pretty much unscrew the two screws in the top of the surround, unscrew the three screws and unplug the cluster, take it out, and then press all the clips around the sides in so they allow the plastic cover to pop off. really simple, not a big deal. just don't mark up anything in the process and use gentle pressure when dealing with the clips. they might take some manhandling just don't TRY to break the thing.

When you take the cluster apart it's best not to do it outside in the car, but inside in as clean an environment as possible. No matter how careful you are there will be a few specks of dust that make their way inside when you put it back together, it will be much worse outside. Have a can of air-duster spray handy to blow everything clean immediately before you put the cover back on.
