What is the difference between a STi UTEC and a WRX UTEC? Is there any way to make a WRX UTEC work on a STi?

Subaruised 04-19-2005, 12:18 AM I am curious about this myself. Anyone? feiron 04-19-2005, 04:39 AM I only know that they're not inter-changeable... the STI utec is dual-processor (not sure what it is... but I'm guessing they need to be different since AVCS? ) even the revision 4 only work on an 02, rev 5 for 02-03 and rev 6 for all models.... mick_the_ginge 04-19-2005, 01:10 PM WRX UTEC has a different number of electrical plugs than the STI UTEC. No way can you get it to work on an STI serendipity 04-19-2005, 01:32 PM The way to convert it is four easy steps: 1) Post for-sale ad for current UTEC 2) Buy used STi UTEC 3) ???? 4) Profit! :) beefyib123 04-19-2005, 02:37 PM ^^^^ you make it sound so easy. the WRX ECU and the STI ECU don't shair very much incommon. this is like asking what is the diff between a Civic ECU and a WRX ECU. and the answer is....they aren't the same. jaxscuby 04-19-2005, 06:39 PM wrx, ecu has 5 plugs sti, ecu has 4 plugs and they are not interchangeable.... Colin84 04-19-2005, 06:53 PM Thanks for the bad news. :( Seriously though, thanks for the input. Colin |
