you use the RS flywheel...as far as what to use, you can use the stock flywheel, but any upgraded organic clutch be it ACT, exedy, rps, etc...should do you just fine...just check the torque it can hold and go from there

ok so the rs flywheel has no problem bolting up to the ej20 motor? that was the only thing i was worried about.

RS flywheel works fine with an EJ20 motor. I had the same Exedy clutch/flywheel as I was using when I had my turbokit on my RS before the swap.

And the lower RS gearing does wonders over the USDM WRX gearing.

I ate an Exedy Organic Street clutch with my swap - granted it was well abused.

What killed it was doing drag launches with a JDM STi motor

my car is still cable so lots and lots of peddle force is required

I was going to ask this same clutch question.
Now that I have my answer, do you know the cheapest place to buy said clutches? I am seeing 400 dollar range for the act clutch...normal?

yeah about 400 or more for ACT.. or you can go with the Exedy Stage 1 kit for about 330.. The ACT has more clamping force (45-50% over stock) and the Exedy has about 27% more than stock..

I'm using the Exedy on mine, peddle is not heavy at all. I went for the Exedy over ACT purely on clamping force numbers.. I don't want the tranny to get shocked any harder than it needs to, plus it should handle what i plan on doing to it. :)

Just remember that the RS and WRX tranny's have diffrent styles of clutch fork action.....pull vs push....

if you are going to use your RS tranny you will need to buy drivetrain parts to match your RS because the WRX ones will not work....

hope it helps
