I have an '00 RS - Stock exhaust system. Under load and when blipping the throttle in Neutral, I can hear a prominent whistling noise coming from out of my tailpipe.

Anyone ever experience / hear of such a thing?

Chances are one of two things is wrong:

1. there's a hole or rust spot in the muffler
2. one of your exhaust gaskets is leaking or the bolts have come loose on one of the pipes.

I had the same thing... turned out the gasket had degraded enough and broken... simple 12 bux to fix.

Thanks Soccer freak! I'll take a closer look. I'm hoping it's a hole in the muffler so I can get the nod from the wifey to get a new stromung. hehe

no problem...

if it's not the muffler just puncture a couple holes in it and mother nature will start her magic... you'll be "stromung-ing" in no time! :lol:

is the sound that you hear "wooooo-wooooo"? Or more like "woowoowoooooooo?

Gasket leaks almost sound like theres a plastic bag hanging out your window, holes sound like whistles.
