do you mean the stock turbo or what the stock internals can handle??

Stock turbo runs out of breath about 18psi. Stock internals are good for upto 22 psi or so with a safe tune. I'm sure some will say higher but from what I've read, more than 22 and your pushing it.

what are everyones opinions on the max boost with a bigger turbo on 93? What about a bigger turbo with c16?

He didn't ask how much boost it will hold at upper rpms - he just wanted safe peak numbers, unless everyone here read it wrong.

At roughly 2200ft and stock exhaust, the most I can get on my stock (but UTEC'd) STi is from 16-17 psi depending on ambient temps.

With the stock ECU, I don't get anywhere near those pressures.

I used to see 18 psi all the time and I live at 4K, but I had a Stage 2 with Cobb A/P in the old days. The stock DP is restrictive as hell.

With an echappement, a walbro, 20G, a good remap, internal stock can like how much of boost at 6000tr without probleme?

^^You seem to be making a statement with the sarcasm, not asking a question. Which is it?

And, just to be clear: this symbol ( ) means sarcastic - sorry, but I don't know the word in french.

I run 1.6 bar in the mid range on the stock turbo.

Well, with a turboback and inlet I stopped at about 17.5 midrange. I imagine you can run more under 5000rpm on the stock turbo, but then the car starts to become jumpy without being much faster, you just get a huge torque peak. I guess some people like that. I prefer to just wind out the engine.

But my take is, if you really want to scoot you don't need to be under 5000rpm for much time at all with the 6 speed. In first gear or second gear you have a lot of mechanical advantage in the gearbox that it is still hard to hit that much boost before you're in the high RPM range again. A the drag strip I don't even hit <5000rpm.

What? When your racing you shift at 4k RPM? WHY?

< equals less than.... SO

He doesn't even hit less than 5000rpm.

That's like 22 - 23 psi depending upon where you are.

I hit 21psi max boost at about 4300 RPM, tapering to 14psi at redline. That's on stock VF39 with a Prodrive BCS and Catted TBE, on a Topspeed Protune Map.

I regularly hit 21 psi myself. I have a turbo XS TBE and an Ecutek reflash. I have only been runnin' that for about 5K though. I hope my turbo holds up!

So I am finding out in abundance. Stock exhaust sucks IMO. Too bad my bank account is finite. :(

On a couple tracks days that I have done this year I've hit about 21 psi max..this is the most I've seen. I am cobb stage 2 running the 93 oct map and a 3 inch catless exhaust. I'm not worried though, every time I hit this boost level I was running 100 oct..normal every day around town the max boost I'll see is around 18 psi...

No, it is an interrogation!(because we have the 2.5 since january in EU!)
In Europe, ecutek puts 1.3b to 6000 rpm with the config that I said(sti 2006), what makes approximately 380 HP. I wondered until how much of boost internal stock remained reliable. Thank you for your answers ;) ;)
