I was just wondering what exhaust\muffler choices do I have that were designed specifically for my North American 04 RS (2.5L)
I wanted to get something that was a little throatier but not loud at highway speeds.
I have been steered away from the Subaru Performance (SPT) muffler due to the price but if you have any alternatives that you know of designed for our car that would me very much appreciated.
Any sounds clips for the SPT BTW?
Thanks for you help

well best bet is by going with borla headers, stromung catalytic pipe and then finish with stromung cat.
Or you can go all ballistic spend $1000+ in cobb with ELH, and wait about 3 -4 months till it arrives.

Good luck, :)

I put a Strömung dual tip axle-back on my 04 and it sounds deep and throaty. In fact, I've been putting a little dynomat in the car to kill a little resonation. Sounds good, though.

I was looking for something not quite too loud, you mentioned that you are putting in Dynomat with the Strömung install I guess it can get a bit loud...
Thanks for the help everyone especially the links, and any other suggestions are much appreciated on something around 300/400 and not too loud.

Go with a Stromung axle back from boxer4racing.com

I'm in the same boat and am going the following route:
Custom Cat-Back
2.25" piping
Magnaflow Resonator in midpipe
Borla ProXS muffler
Borla Oval tip
The Borla, from clips I've heard, will deepen the sound, give you more of what's there kind of. The resonator will eliminate the dreaded droning many get at highway speeds.
Stainless Steel is worth the extra $$ if you plan on keeping your car for 10 years or more, otherwise you're probably fine going with aluminized steel for the piping.
Mandrel-bent pipes are ideal but decent crush bending won't have that much of an impact at all. A cat-back itself doesn't have much impact at all.
Get a good muffler and classy tip along with a perforated resonator (as opposed to one with louvers.)
Good Luck!

Any suggestions on a Canadian online or store front that I would be able to get a Cobb Exhaust at a reasonable price.
Thanks again for the help...
