View Full Version : Solo II: Antenna
anti.team 04-22-2005, 04:25 PM The beater car I bought over the winter that I plan on autocrossing a bit has an aftermarket plastic antenna on it (REAL cool... oh well, the car was cheap)
Does anyone know if the stock class rules specifically address antennas at all, or does this just fall under the "if it's not legal, then it's illegal" clause?
I would file that under 'don't worry about it'.

DrBiggly 04-22-2005, 05:38 PM Comfort/convenience. Fits with the radio. You can remove the speakers if you'd like in anything but stock class (even then, you might be able to I think it depends.) :)

I don't see what not, the 04 STi's didnt come with Radios. And I'm pretty sure you can add those in stock class.
I know I wouldn't protest someone for removing their 5oz door speakers.
anti.team 04-22-2005, 06:04 PM I wouldn't say that I'm worried about it, just curious. I like to know exactly where I'm "bending the rules"
Thanks everyone!

mykrrrr 04-23-2005, 07:36 AM Doug - I'm w/KC on this one. ;) I'll protest you if that'll make you happy. :D
 @ zzyzx's comment. :p

anti.team 04-23-2005, 10:52 AM Thanks Mike!
I also don't have badges on the car, which is specifically forbidden in the stock class rules if I remember correctly. There is still an outline of what it used to say, though. You can read "Jetta GLS" on the the trunk. This is one classy ride.

Hey zzyzx do you think you could clear some PM space, I wanted to send you a PM but NASIOC tells me your inbox is full.
Edit: An just to stay on-topic let me nit pick and say that while the 04 STi's did not come with radios, they already had the antennas :) And I also think the antenna would fall under comfort and convenience.
anti.team 04-23-2005, 09:58 PM I don't know... I don't really think of my antenna as comfortable...
I don't know... I don't really think of my antenna as comfortable...
But it's convinient to have... in case you wanted to be comfortable with it...
anti.team 04-24-2005, 12:29 AM I'm just having a hard time thinking of a way in which my antenna would be comfortable to me. I have to admit that it's persistant presence is convinient, though
Hmm... maybe you're not part of the 'some like it tough' crowd...
mykrrrr 04-25-2005, 11:32 PM Thanks for wasting like 30 seconds of my meaningless life...
