Yes, I've tried search which has become completely useless these days. :furious:
If anyone has directions can you please point me to the right thread, thanks!
I need to replace a stripped stud on my left rear corner. Got the rotor off and the stud out but getting the new one in is a bear. Wondering if I am missing an easier way?

Get a bigger hammer. I think wheel studs are pressed in using a hydralic press and appropreat fittings. You may want to visit a machine shop or garage that does wheel bearings. eddie

The basic process is easy. The problem is that it is a tight fit in the rear. I think I am going to have to take parking brake assembly off as well.

If you got the old stud out without cutting it then you should be able to get the new one in.
I'm sure you niticed that the portion that presses in to the hub is splined. Get a nut with the same thread pitch as the stud(12x1.25 I think) and a couple washers(not lock washers). Put the stud in,align the splines, washers, and the nut. tighten it down to draw the stud in. Use grease on the washers, hub face, and what will be the washer side on the nut.
Good luck, does'nt take much force.
If you loosen the tone wheel assembly there is like one spot in the 360 degree rotation where you can probably fit a new stud behind everything.

You, Sir, are a genius! Worked like a charm. I unhooked the top return spring on the parking brake and pushed the right pad out about half an inch so I could get a better work area. A second spring got in the way but I pushed that back a couple of mm with a screw driver and got the stud through the hole and then drew it out as you explained. :)
I'll see if I can add a photo later.
Thanks for the help! :alien:
