ok, i'm not the greatest with car stuff and my boyfriend would be embarrassed if he knew i was using the NASIOC forum for this - anyways, i'm trying to re-attach my rearview mirror, and i don't know how to remove the rearview mirror button. can someone help me? instructions, tools i should use - i need as much help as i can get.

btw, i have an 05 impreza outback sport wagon if anyone was curious.

The rearview mirror is a camlock design. You should be able to just twist it and it will pop off. To put the new one on, just insert and twist it back to lock in place.

Just to clarify, the button on the windshield stays there, it's only the mirror part that gets moved.

Thanks for the help folks. We're just gonna have Giant glass who f-ed it up in the first place put it back on when they re-replace the windshield :furious: . They gave us an 04 windshield which is slightly different from the 05's(black dots).
