I plan on installing a dynamat equivalent to my front doors soon. One question though. When rolling it onto the outer door skin is it possible to create indentations that will show through to the outside? or is there a layer of sheet metal protecting it? It seems that with the relative ease of door dents, that using a roller on it would deform the sheet metal. Are there any precautions I should take? I tried searching, but none of the theads or faqs addressed this issue.

Well don't pour your heart and soul into smashing the deadening on the door skin and you won't have a problem. Just push it on there solidly but not excessively, it takes quite a bit of force to deform the metal skin.

I did my outer door skins and didn't even use a roller. they sound amazing. and now that you mentioned it...I do have a couple dings in my passenger front and have no idea how they'll be fixed with raamat on them...

I only matted the lower half of my door skin... I've never seen dings below the trim on my door anyways, so no reason not to mat there.
The upper half is just a bit of a pain to work on anywyas, so I just left it alone.

a pain is correct my friend, especially for a first timer, but i think well worth it. just do it and get it over with. you'll be happy. just try and be patient with it is the only advice i can give you.
