Just wanted to let everyone know that I am very happy with my Hydra EMS.
I have a 2004 USDM STi, with the following pertinent modifications:
Deadbolt TD05H-18G
Cobb Uppipe and TBE
Perrin Big MAF Short Intake
Perrin TMIC
Walbro 342 Fuel Pump
Perrin STi-Modified Injectors
Perrin Lightened Crank Pulley
Element Hydra EMS
I've been purchasing and saving up these parts over the last 6 months. I installed them recently, and the base map provided by Phil at Element had the car up and running. I did a bunch of AutoTuning, played around with my Boost settings, and the car ran well and very strong on 93 Octane gas.
To get the absolute most out of my car, I and another guy in Illinois paid to bring Phil Grabow out for custom tuning sessions. I cannot overemphasize either Phil's skill, or the Hydra's capabilities. What Phil and the Hydra were able to achieve with my car was nothing short of amazing. Boost initiation at 2100 rpm, 10 psi by 2850 rpm, full boost of 19 psi by 3500 rpm, tapering to about 16 psi at redline. The car pulls hard and smooth, and there is not a hint of detonation.
This tuning was done entirely on the street, and I do not have any dyno numbers. I have learned a great deal from this forum, and I just wanted to share my recent experience.
Thanks.....................Frank
