Hey people, I have a stock rimmed 2005 wrx with the 16"s. What is a good summer tire to replace these RE92's? Had good luck with toyo proxes t1-s on my FWD cars as a good performance tire, was thinking about them but they get 12k worth of miles and are a little $$. What do you all think has the wear, noise and handling characteristics better than the "just okay" RE92's? looking for more grip than stock, good to great wear and non spongey handling. Any sugesstions appreciated.

There are plenty of good budget summer tires in the $85-$100 range in 205/55/16. Avon TechM 500's are good as well as Yokohoma AVS-ES100's. For a little more money and less treadlife, Kumho Ecsta MX's are very sticky.

probably anything but the re92's. Never liked them much. I've been running winter tires year round :D

Was your other thread with the exact same question not good enough?
