Just like the subject, trying to find out who has the best prices on Falken tires. Looking to replace worn ST-115s with the same. I checked Vulcan Tire, Discount Tire, and Edgeracing. Anyone cheaper than them?

View Full Version : Falken tires: Who has the best prices? Samirr76 04-25-2005, 06:51 PM Just like the subject, trying to find out who has the best prices on Falken tires. Looking to replace worn ST-115s with the same. I checked Vulcan Tire, Discount Tire, and Edgeracing. Anyone cheaper than them? Riight112 04-25-2005, 08:10 PM I went with edgeracing.com when I bought my set of st-115, since their shipping was the lowest. I didn't have a chance to put them on yet. How did you like them? Matt 04-25-2005, 10:53 PM Depends...if Discount is running free shipping with the tires, they could be the cheapest. I found that out after ordering my 512s from Vulcan. Uncle Scotty 04-26-2005, 12:27 AM edge racing PinnacleChronos 04-26-2005, 01:17 AM How did you guys like the st-115's? please give a short review if you can, dry/wet grip, antihydroplan, wear, noise etc. I've been thinking about these or spending slightly extra on FK451's or just getting Ziex on my Advans Uncle Scotty 04-26-2005, 01:55 AM ...forget AS tires unless you need them. The 451's are higher performance than the 115's.....the 115's are quiet and will likely last longer than the 451's....the 451 is a true UHP tire on the cheap ;) kuks 04-26-2005, 12:05 PM tires.com gave me the best price. $40 less(bottom line including shipping) for falcon fk451's in 225x45x17. comming from re092's, the 451's feel pretty good ;) Samirr76 04-26-2005, 01:29 PM falken, not falcon :p I really REALLY like the ST-115s. They grip almost as well as the full-tilt racing Azenis tires but wear like iron and perform 10x's better in the rain than the Azenis Sports. My first set lasted me like four summers!! With crazy driving alot of the time. I had 225--45-17 but I'm going +1 to 235-40-17 this time around. The 225's were a little narrow on my 7.5" wide wheels and the 40-series sidewall will give me a little gearing advantage. I got my first set from Discount Tire when they ran free shipping, but they do jack up the tire prices a bit to offset their loss, so its not a GREAT deal... also, they match prices, which si good if you find them somewhere cheaper, thats why im looking for cheapy places to buy them. I still intend on buying them from Tires.com. Samirr76 04-26-2005, 01:30 PM Note: ST-115s run narrow in tread width compared to other tires in the same size, so you can easily go +1 without worrying about rubbing or anything. RogersWRX 04-26-2005, 07:44 PM it looks like the the best performance street tire for under $100 is the BFG Gforce Sport... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/bfg_gforce_sport_c.jsp Uncle Scotty 04-27-2005, 12:29 AM it looks like the the best performance street tire for under $100 is the BFG Gforce Sport... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/bfg_gforce_sport_c.jsp ....no. zombiedog 04-27-2005, 02:41 PM ^ Hahahaa PinnacleChronos 04-27-2005, 05:17 PM but the ST-115's will still be a huge improvement over stock RE92's and compared to other tires in that price range right (including AS tires like Ziex, proxes4)? HANZIE 04-28-2005, 01:07 AM www.onlinetires.com Phil Jr. 04-28-2005, 01:28 AM discount tire seems to be cheapest....at least to 18901 that is. Do I need the valve stems? Uncle Scotty 04-28-2005, 09:50 PM but the ST-115's will still be a huge improvement over stock RE92's and compared to other tires in that price range right (including AS tires like Ziex, proxes4)? Absolutly. PinnacleChronos 04-29-2005, 06:45 AM thanx scotty, much <3 Jungdragon 05-03-2005, 11:56 PM Note: ST-115s run narrow in tread width compared to other tires in the same size, so you can easily go +1 without worrying about rubbing or anything. any idea how the tread width compares to the fk451? Do they both run a little narrow? HANZIE 05-04-2005, 02:15 AM i second that ^^^^ PinnacleChronos 05-04-2005, 02:39 AM i was looking at the specs on edgeracing.com and I think they're almost the same, the st-115's might be .1 wider but thats it. but i don't know about it in real life swappedGF 05-04-2005, 04:50 PM Anyone else know from experience just how narrow the ST-115's are? I am looking into getting and trying to decide on getting 225/45/17 or the 235/45/17. Its going on some Rotas so they w=7.5. Any suggestions? Also, anyone try the ZE-512's? Debating between the two Falkens as well. Any experience would be helpful. YinUCSD 05-04-2005, 05:59 PM ...forget AS tires unless you need them.
