i have an 04 wrx with the vishnu stage 1 with uppipe and tbe. is it better to go with a 1 step colder plug. if so is this the right one, BKR7ES/11 what are the benifits of a colder plug. is it things like less knock? thanks for the info. steve

why not the -11's whats wrong with them? i called vishnu and they said they are the ones they use.

Vishnu is behind times...reallly....the gap that the -11's come pre-gapped with is 1.1mm(~.044")....and to get back to the gap you need.......0.7 - 0.8mm(~.028-.030") you would have to close the gap too far and end up with a ground electrode that was bent to an angle compared to the center electrode.....bad juju.
The correct plug NGK plug for a turbo EJ20 is a NON-11 plug......if you doubt this, go to NGK's website and read the FAQ about gapping.

Vishnu's plug knowledge = teh suck. :( PFR7B (NGK Part Number 4853) is what you want. They run ~$12/each. I called NGK USA about this and it's their latest part number, NO MATTER WHAT you read elsewhere. I just got mine from sparkplugs.com and they were pretty close to .030 out of the box.
