Does anyone have experience with BMW CCA driver's schools? I'm signed up for the two day session at SPR on june 25th-26th. How are the instructors? Is there a lot of track time?

(I'm doing VIR and Watkins Glen this year) BMW CCA is a great group. Safe (that's a big issue), and I had around 7-8 20 minute sessions with classroom time. Instructors are very good and will be straight with you on things to work on to go faster and drive better. I continue to feel that a HPDE is mandatory if you own a WRX or STi. (unless you just use your car to just pick up groceries) turboICE 04-26-2005, 12:23 PM I went to their three day event last spring. All the instructors are great. Track time is good. Make absolutely certain you go to the skid pad (one of the skid pad guys has a wrx wagon). And after I went last year there was a lot more respect for the scooby's on day three than at tech on day zero - so they probably won't give you a hard time about not bringing something with german engineering. I can now participate as a driving instructor at their events. You will learn alot, they do a great job of pairing you up and if not you should ask for a different instructor! Enjoy! MattSTi 04-26-2005, 04:29 PM Thanks for the input guys. I went ahead and sent in my application for the event. Do they let you use your own car on the skidpad? Every time I've been to a FATT they have used the BSR police issue cars. -matt turboICE 04-26-2005, 04:43 PM Your own car is the only one that you could use for the skid pad at the BMWCCA event. The picture above certainly isn't one of the BSR po po cars. ;) |
