So im getting my Rota Subzeros lips polished out to a mirror finish but the polisher said they want me to strip the lips of the clear, has anyone done this to a rota wheels before? once the wheels is stripped they will polish it and then i will have them painted. I have to strip them myself. So far im leaning towards aircraft paint remover that u can buy at the store do you think this will work? Rota paint very strong?

that aircraft stuff is pretty strong and would prolly strip the paint also. just get some strypeeze from lowe's. lots of people use it to strip paint off and polish afterwards. cheaper also.

I just did this.. the powdercoat on the subzeros is freaking thick and hard as a rock.. The aircraft stuff will take it off, but it will take you forever (if you have to do it, use the spray on stuff)
If you just have to take the clear coat off, I guess I would use a soft sander on a drill... looking back on it I would just paint the damm things. It took me 8 hours.

BTW, how much to get them polished?

Yeah, the powder coat on the subzero will be very hard to strip. Your best bet to have them polished is to bring it to a wheel plater as they have special machines that can polish the wheel with powder on them. Just remember to clear coat the wheel after polishing or else they will oxidize
