conflicting date with a St. Louis RallyCross and everyone from stl who went last year also happens to rally-x ;)

As last year's 20th finisher out of 20 entries in SM at the Ripken Field event, I will be there to defend my title.

Oh well, miss a rallycross and let all the non-subaru guys have fun.

Subaru Challenge events should be more important than local events. I missed a local points event last year for the Subaru Challenge.

Hey Jeff, if I were you I would goto the Subaru Challenge with James if he is going as it will get you ready for the Midiv later.

So what's the story on the Challenge part?
I was down in Texas for one in 03 and they took the class winners and filled in by paxed index to come up with a 32 car braket and raced 2 by 2 via paxed adjusted times.

Should be similar if not exactly the same this year :D Event details are listed HERE (http://www.subaruchallenge.com/CRRegs.pdf)

I agree....but the SOA Western Region has not committed to any events as they don't believe enough people would be interested. Contacting your local dealer and/or Western Region office might help change their mind. (hint...hint)

Opie, I think that regs document needs updated.

The Tech Procedure says that tech is on Saturday July 10th & at the event site.

Not only is the date wrong, but the event is on a Saturday this year.

Are they having Tech on Friday then?

WRXedUSA
06-07-2005, 03:53 PM
Is the tech only at Jack Miller?? I wont be arriving till late.

What is this tech part? Inspection? hellllllll no I'm not letting Jack Miller look at my car.

I've been signed up for some time now.
I would like to see Subaru's documentation corrected so we'd know what was going on.

omahasubaru

In the past, they offered a Tech Inspection for the event at Jack Miller.

That was where they'd give you your free goodies and you'd get to chat with some of the cool dealership guys down there at Jack Miller.

Tech inspection was done by KCRSCCA members, not Jack Miller. Your car must be in 'race' condition in order for a full tech check, although wheels/tires don't need to be on.

They also still had tech at the event site the day of the event.

Since this year it is on a Saturday instead of a Sunday, I'd bet all tech will be done on site. However they may offer a Fri. afternoon tech at JM.

I'll hopefully be down there on Friday, to have my alignment tweaked by a well known KCsubaru guy and hoping (if all works out) to get some dyno time in on our STS car to test some different exhaust set-ups.

That's what I figured. I just heard some mumblings about Friday tech at the dealership.

Faceplate is coming too.

Hey Guys,

Tech will be the event day, on Saturday the 18th.

The welcoming party and registration will both be at the event Hotel from 6-9 PM Friday the 17th.

I'll be sending out an email to all participants later today.

Note the important things:

Registration is at the Hotel, 6-9 PM Friday

Tech is 8:30 - 9:30 AM Saturday morning. This is also the window for late registration.

As a regular competitor, you should plan to be there by 8:30 AM and get tech done.

If you are involved in course setup (or want to help out), we'll start setup promptly at 7:00 AM Saturday morning.

Well... people who have "more important" things to do can't really say much, can they? :p The autopilot shouldn't allow any spins, though. But with 10 runs each, I would plan on a new set of tires anyway.

This should be fun.

I double checked that the garage is locked, so you fools can forget about your silly ideas. And while I have the highest respect for your breaking and entering skills, I would hate to see you step on one of the strategically placed landmines. :p

Yes, Danno, why aren't you running in KC?

I'll be at the MiDivs in KC and Topeka, but not Salina (going on non-autocross-related vacation that week, if you can imagine such a thing). I was just making a joke because I think my account here gets revoked if I don't post at least once a year.

I had a great time. I placed 2nd in AS (WRXedUSA beat me...way to go Chad!). Unfortunately there were only 40 something cars there. We need to have a better turnout in the future hopefully so this event continues every year.

Here's me with the "death grip" on my steering wheel.

Thanks to Steve, Chris, and everyone for a great event. I had a fun time. Although Saturday was filled with too much pre-race prep, it was a good time indeed.

A very fast and fun course... once the finish was revised in the afternoon.

Here are a couple Peaty shots of me in action co-driving my friends RS

A special pre-race thanks to Todd @ Stateline Nissan for the sweet deal on the quality Hunter Laser alignment and also Jake at Deimen Motorsports for letting us get a pull on their AWD dyno in Lee Summit and Steve of zzyzx motorsports for putting us up at his place and helping us do some more tweaks on the car.

Can't wait until the challenge in 2006 now!

Steve,

Thanks for all your work putting on the event. It was again great. The course was fun (though a little challenging at first) and the lunch was fanatastic.

Peaty,

Thanks for the pics, they turned out great once again.

KCRSCCA,

Putting on 2 days worth of racing must be taxing. Thanks for the support. Lot L is the best.

And, Here's your AS winner (I'm not modest when it comes to winning :D )

You can sleep easy now, Jeffrey-san. As you can see below, I kept the shiny side up and the pointy end forward. Barely... I almost completed the questionable achievement of spinning out before the start line on my first run. James didn't show me the autopilot button, and that car is quite a handful if you actually have to drive it. ;) It was an interesting experience. After about 6-7 runs, it got a little less scary.

Thanks to Steve and the rest of the event staff. It was a fun event!

Yeah... time seemed the only thing missing all day.

two driver STS car on Azenis in an 11 car heat with two cars on course at a time made it truely impossible to get heat out of the tires, let alone relax and focus before you have to go again.

That was the only down side.
