Ok, so far I have gotten 3 emails from people on this board; the last one was from jcsports. All of the emails contain attachments w/ double extension file names (ex: "wanted_door.doc.bat", to name a few...). I was curious as to if anyone else was getting these strange emails in their box?

I am going to venture a guess and say that these are emails sent by the Sircam virus. I would inform these guys that they may have a virus in there system, and whatever you do, dont open the attachements, just delte them. then do a virus scan of your whole com-p.

I just checked my email and there is one there from ""JC Sports Inc" <tech@jcsportsinc.com>" Called Dr_1_._Seuss.doc.bat . It seems to be legit as the email address is JC Sports Inc but I don't really want to open the attatchment. I am begining to think that i-Club is having a serious problem here. Nick, any suggestions other than don't open the email??

Download the latest update for your virus program (you DO have one, right...?). here is some more info about Sircam:

Basically, anyone who is sending you these emails is infected. It's a really good idea to turn off your Preview Pane in Outlook. The Preview Pane is the window that displays the contents of each message. The problem is that it has to open the message to display it. So every time you highlight a message to delete it, Outlook has already opened it.

With Sircam, you have to actually open the attachment as well to get infected, so you are probably OK.

I'm not getting these, nor do I want to. I never open e-mails from unknown sources, especially one's w/attachments.

I believe I read earlier that Nick did have outlook, thus he was searching for a virus protector. I dont have an anti virus program...I think today I will go buy one, but I use yahoo email, it doesnt download attachments until you tell it to, so I am ok...Its just getting annoying.
thanks for the responses.
