I really hate to do this, and although this is a little off the topic of the botched ASR group buy, but I have been waiting for a clutch for months.

After i ordered it, I waited about a month and called at least once a week. Then all of a sudden, a flywheel shows up at my office...sans clutch. He told me (when I actually got in touch with him) that the clutches were breaking and of not good quality. He offered me a refund for the clutch and I said I would take it.

I waited another month before I actually got in touch with him again (after at least a call a week) and he said he sent the refund check. Now, mind you, this was a week ago. I didn't get the check and then he told me he would send out either a clutch or the money. I asked if he had the clutches in stock and he said he did. I decided to tak the clutch and he said they would ship out the next day. I even got a call back from him saying to call him to get the tracking numbers and info. I called at least once each day and no response.

I have no idea what the hell is going on. Alex assured me he is a good guy and I'm sure he is, but this has nothing to do with business. I work with customers all the time, and not just people wanting goods. I have doctors and hospitals depending on me to make orders go through and get to them when they need it as promised. Sure, things occasionally get screwed up, and there is accountability on my part. I see no accountability from Alan, although he is apologetic that things go wrong. However, the excuses of, "Well, I sent the check, didn't you get it", just doesn't cut it with me anymore. This is the same kind of excuse akin to "The dog ate my homework" when you had to turn in homework in elementary school and you never did it.

It seems he has too many empty promises and no way to cover himself. I even left him messages threatening legal action. I guess he feels he has nothing to loose, even after I spoke to my lawyer. This has gone far enough. It may be only $235 for a clutch, but it's been long overdue. This has left a sour taste in my mouth and I will no longer do any more business with ASR.

It's too bad this is how it has to be. He seems to have a great product, but the customer service is extremely lacking. I hate to use this board as a soapbox to which I can rant and rave, but this is rediculous. I htought I would share my experience with those that are suffering through this group buy and so they know it is not only the kits, but everything else that was promised... :(

It's strange, and I'm sorry for going off on a tangent here.

Has anyone else noticed that a LOT of Subaru-specific tuners are either one way or the other - either a salesman with so-so products, or a guy with an excellent product and so-so service? J&S was one of the latter, I guess ASR is as well. *shrug* I guess that is the way it goes, huh?
