Ross rktwgn 07-29-2001, 03:48 PM Got a nice new Imprezza wagon OE cover last week. It fits like a glove. Very useful if you leave the car out or go away for a time. I think it was 70-90 dollars. It's a breatheable fabric and it is washable (use Fantastik). JenisonWRX 07-29-2001, 05:54 PM Califorina Car Cover ;) Super Weave bensonwrx 07-30-2001, 02:12 AM Actually I want to get one too, since I am forced to park my baby out there every night (hate appartment). I heard the factory cover is really nice, but if you change your spoiler then it may not fit 100%, especially if the wing is bigger and taller. Also, people said that as it's breathable, the car will get a bit wet on rainy day, but the purpose is to block out debris, bird droppings, tree saps, and other chemicals than just water. Hope this help...now only if I can get a great deal at ebay... -Alan Andrew 07-30-2001, 02:26 AM if you can, you might wnat to put another car's symbol/emblem on the cover so they wont want to jack your car. maybe put something like Dodge Neon on it. subyguy2 07-30-2001, 09:18 PM I am pretty sure that Graham Goode in the UK sells indoor and outdoor impreza covers for normal size spoilers and large STi spoilers. I am probably going to get my car cover there when I get a WRC spoiler. Fish 07-30-2001, 09:51 PM was pretty funny, I picked up a crap cheap cover to use while I was in maine.. lots of sap out there. well, technically it was the right size.. just never accounted for the Prodrive wing.. never cleared the rear bumper. Subdav 07-31-2001, 01:12 AM  Got mine at Auto Zone..#3...40.00 Dave bensonwrx 07-31-2001, 02:26 AM Fishguy, Unfortunately Prodrive wing is what I have, that's why I know. Talk to SubaruParts and was told that the factory cover won't fit all the way down if I changed the wing... Buying one from UK maybe a solution but the thing is: I just can't spend too much on a cover (Feeding my baby really drained me down) The car cover (factory) I believed has the IMPREZA words on it. Saw it once on eBay description, but forgot to bid on it until too late...ouch! Anyone got a factory one for $40?! :D If so PM me! -Alan SLIG 07-31-2001, 02:35 AM I got mine at Costco for $50.00. It is universal, but fits pretty well. Just buy the size listed on the box forr whatever year Impreza you have. Mine looked too big at first, but with the elastic bands that stretch under the bumbers it holds on well, even in a moderate breeze. For really windy days, I use a long bungee cord under the car from side to side using the provided eyelets. It is similar to the better quality Technalon type from Covercraft, which I've used several of in the last several years. My '90 talon was kept covered for almost 10 yrs and only just started to show a little scuffing along the rear wing trailing adge and the extreme outer mirror fairings. With the foldaway Impreza mirrors, this shouldn't be a problem. Just keep the car as clean as you can when using the cover.:) ChannelZ28 07-31-2001, 05:04 PM After lots of searching and going on to random websites, I think i`ve narrowed it down to 2 choices. One is the Mosom cover by CoverKing, I saw it on Carparts.com, and I think they can customize it, even for a bigger wing. The only thing is it will run over $120 or so Ouch! The other one I was looking at is the Kimberly-Clark Sentrex cover, that I saw in the Whitney catalog, for around $50 But it doesn`t say good dust protection.... if you guys have any opinions on those covers or those companies, please let me know! Ross Darwin 07-31-2001, 05:10 PM I tried the factory cover. You know what? It's an Impreza coupe/sedan cover. period. does NOT account for the wing on the RS! the license plate window neatly shows off the SUBARU lettering on my trunk. =P anyone have a differnet experience with the factory cover? I may need to get a 2000 WRX cover or sumthin.... bensonwrx 08-01-2001, 03:06 AM Ouch that's not a good news...even the RS wing can't fit perfectly, not to mention others. Maybe I will skip the idea of getting the factory one then; after all, it isn't inexpensive. For that price I can get a good aftermarket one. Thanks for the info Darwin! -Alan HondaH8er 08-01-2001, 06:36 AM I also bought the factory one, and it definitely wasn't made with the RS wing in mind. I still fits and keep the bird crap off my car, but just doesn't quite go down far enough on the rear of the car. It works OK with the factory wing, but if you have anything bigger, look elsewhere. |
