I did some major clean up work on my ride this weekend and used some ZYMOL to wax the entire car. The stuff was a breeze to put on but a b!tch to take off. But the shine is amazing! Anyone else use this wax?

Which Zymol? The cheap stuff from pep boys or the real deal from zymol.com? I have used carbon wax from zymol.com. Took a long ass time and didn't last but a couple of days. I'm going to go with the Titanium stuff myself next time.

The good stuff. It was pretty expensive, $15.00 for a bottle. I found it at Western Auto.

I've had pretty good results w/ Zymol. It seems to work best on German paint like Glasurit. It's almost like a one step process unlike those of Mother's and meguiars.

Takes alot of elbow grease to get it good but it's well worth it. Not to mention that it smells like bubble gum. :D

Even the cheaper ("turtle wax") Zymol did pretty darn good in that NSX test... go check out the link.

I still say that Zaino is the way to go though (especially on darker cars).

Dirt Man: "The good stuff" from Zymol doesn't come in a bottle, it comes in a jar. It is a paste that is almost pure carnauba wax. You won't find it for sale at any auto parts store. The only retail stores that sell it are specialty detailing shops. The only other way to get it is to order it directly from Zymol. Oh, and it is *expensive* Something like $30-40 for the small size jars.

I've used the "detailers" wax as well. My car has never looked so good. But I wanted to see if the bottle wax was worth a cr@p. And yes the jar was a fortune I think that I paid 50.00 bucks for the stuff.:cool:, I had a buddy in Maryland who professionally details cars get me some.

BTW: Zaino is supposedly much cheaper than Zymol (expensive Zymol not sold in chain stores).

Zymol isn't almost pure carnauba, that would be rock hard. The maximum amount that a car wax can contain is in the 30% - 40% range.

If you are having trouble getting any wax off your car, not just Zymol, use a micro fibre cloth. They work wonders and best of all you can use one of these instead of 5 cotton terry towels. Zymol sells them.

I've been using Zymol liquid since i had my black Civic (before i got the RS). It works great, especially on black or dark color cars. Here's a tip after you apply it and remove it (which does take a long time to remove)...get a damp cloth and wipe the car down, a section at a time. Then buff with a really soft cloth. It will bring out the shine even more :D

Actually, I used to use the Pinnacle Paste Glaz as well, but I recently switched to Zymol Japon wax. I have actually found the Zymol to last longer than the Pinnacle...BUT...the Pinnacle, IMO, provided a better shine.
BTW, Zymol HD Cleanse is THE BEST paint cleaner, polish IMO. I think Harrydog uses this too. Everytime I use this, I stand back and say to myself "woa"..."that's my Subaru paint doing that"!

PS-They Zymol liquid is not *real* Zymol wax. The real stuff is MUCH easier to apply/remove (so is the Pinnacle). www.zymol.co.uk is the real Zymol site.;)
