Why can't we delete our own posts anymore? That sucks. The reason I want to delete is because I forgot to turn the email notification on, and there's no way to turn it on after the thread is started. So what I've done in the past is just delete it and re-post it.

no.. you cant...
Alex's (Imprezer) decision...
says too many were deleting GOOD and USEFUL stuff... so now you have to let us (moderators) know when you need assistance.
sorry...
j. www.subiegal.com (http://www.subiegal.com)
we had an issue with a member get disgruntled and go and delete some quality stuff..
since then it was disabled.
if you want something gone.. PM one of the moderators.. we can take care of it.
To add fuel to the fire, wouldn't they have to take the edit command away too? What's to stop us from editing the post and removing the content? I want delete back too, so when I do stupid stuff like post a topic in the wrong forum, I can delete it and put it where it belongs. But then again, I could just try to put it in the right forum in the first place ;-)

You can edit the email notification... I added that a while back when we changed the site over... just edit the first post... as long as it's you who started the thread you can change it back and forth.

The problem with self-delete function, is that if you started a thread and then after 50 people replied to it you decide that you want to delete it and delete it, the entire thread will be gone, not just your post. It happens, becuase you started the tread.
If you want to delete your post, simply edit it, leave it all black and write, "please delete" and moderators will delete it if it won't kill any other posts.
Ah, that's a good point. I stand corrected.
