High squeal at WOT, ONLY WHEN MOVING! It kinda' sounds like a turbo spooling up... but my car is N/A! Another thread got the reply that it might be a small hole in the exhaust... but this sound is coming from the front right-ish part of the engine(not from under the car).... can't be completely sure B/C I can't find anyone to stradle my hood and listen to the engine when I'm punching it ;) . whats worse is I think I'm starting to notice a slight decline in my throttle response :( . What could I do beyond a visual inspection(done that) to maybe test the air boxes (in the 99 there's that second thing too) or lines for leaks???WHAT THE HELL IS THIS??? :furious:
Much thanks for any feedback!!!

Well if it only happens when moving then its not exhaust. You got to think, "ok, what parts act differently when I am moving, as opposed to when stationary?" Rotors move, axels move, wheels move, tranny moves, ect. Your engine basically does the same thing when still or moving (besides the load on it). HAve you made any mods to it as of late? Any maintainance?

No new mods, no recent work except an oil change a few weeks before it started, i'll inspect my breaks but those are only about 4 months old.
thanks for the feedback.

Does it happen at any particular speeds? Does the sound change with velocity? Any change when turning or straight?

turning makes no difference, actual landspeed doesn't make any difference... it just happens when the pedal is depressed beyond the last 10-20% of it's range, when the engine is roaring and I'm moving. Just one sound, Loudest when at WOT.
thanks for the feedback.

Wow, I wish I could hear the sound. Have you noticed any excessive wear on the throttle cable? Dont know why that would squeel, there isnt really any moving parts around it except for the AC pully I think, and thats not really close. But then again it would make that noise stationary or mobile. I think you need to call Car Talk. :(

NEW INFO! It does make a quieter squeal above 4500rpms when stationary!! it's real quiet, couldn't pick it up until I was parked with three walls around me and the scoop-blocker-thing removed. MAYBE this will help solve the mystery. I didn't see any wear on the throttle cable, but i'll look again when it's light tommorrow. What is this "Car Talk" that you speak of?
thanks very much for the feedback!
