Hey guys, I've stff and can not find any info on how exactly to remove the oil pump. I was hoping to have the timing belt/water pump job done tonight. But this oil pump has just brought me to a stand still. What's the trick? I removed 5 bolts from the front side of the pump. I don't see any more holding it in. I do see some type of gasket there, so do I just have to pry it off? I really don't want to damage anything since things are actually going pretty well. Any help would really be appreciated.

Oh, and does anyone know the procedure for the cam seal replacements? Do you just pry those seals out once the pulleys are off?

Why are you replacing the cams seals? Are they leaking? They should be fine if not. As for the oil pump, you will need to pry it out. Careful not to mar up the mating surface on the block but that is how it's done. Remember, the crank shaft is also holding it in place so just work it off slowly. A tip on the crank seal install is to lubricate the inner part of the seal where it slides over the shaft. Have you R+R'd the timing belt before. If not and you've got DOHC engine, it can be tricky so if you need any advice let me know.

there are 7 bolts. Look closer. After that you should be able to tap it off from the bottom.

ANy idea's on how to tighten the crank pulley on an auto?

theres a hole near the bellhousing that you can put a large screwdriver into, and down there is the torque converter cover or whatever, anysways theres little holes in that so you can make the engine not spin when you have the screwdriver stuck in there.
