Guys, my A/C only works on the fan selector switch 4. Well, the A/C compressor will operate when switched to selector 1, 2, or 3 but the fan will ONLY work on selector 4. I've been told to order either a resistor for the fan or the fan selector switch.

So, what is the likely culprit? The parts are similarly priced (~ $40 each) so it's a 50/50 shot ordering either one without knowing what the problem is exactly. Anybody seen this issue before?

This is the typical symptom of a bad blower resistor. The resistor is used for the lower fan speeds and is bypassed on the #4/high speed setting.
You can remove the resistor to inspect it and test it with an ohmeter, it's located in the lower portion of the fan housing.

Under the passenger side dash, behind the glovebox. Remove the glovebox to allow full access to the area, you'll see the fan housing and duct. There are two electrical connectors underneath, the one on the right is for the fan itself and the one to the left is the resistor. Unplug the resistor and take the screws out that hold it in, you can then remove it for testing/replacement.

Makes sense, it's not an expensive part and why not have the new one on hand so you can take it apart just once.

Could there be larger electrical problems? I've had my dash light go, my glove box led, my clock,--I think that's it.

That seems a bit odd. Do you have a voltmeter? I would check to see if you are getting abnormal spikes, or if your voltage is constantly too high. Your alternator could be going nutty.
