you can also spray it out while the cars running with the intercooler removed and the maf unplugged. That is the approved subaru way of cleaning it under warranty, as explained in a service bulletin. Just spray carb or intake cleaner up into the air port before the throttle plate in short bursts so the engine doesn't die.
