View Full Version : 06 wrx/sti pricing speculation/rumors
dark knight 06-19-2005, 11:35 AM what do people think is going to happen?
heres my self serving suggestion.
The new WRX looks almost like its almost a sti, so... why not keep base pricing new 23,000 for the car. Consider the new upgrades as a bonus to push sales of an aging model platform,
The new sti doesnt have alo of new features or different features from the WRX, except the roof diffuser, so drop its price to 28k
this way both cars keep their price differential and become value leaders, there wont be alot of which is better EVO or STI talk if the price structure changed, which it does need to change as this platform is old now, I think the STI is worth more than the WRX but 5k more now that the wrx has been upgraded? but at 28k noone would complain
hyp36rmax 06-19-2005, 12:00 PM i like this idea, now you want to propse this to SOA? ;)
05WrB WRX 06-19-2005, 01:19 PM I wish they would be that cheap, in reality though it will be around 27ish for a wrx
andrewanderson 06-19-2005, 02:09 PM Your being optimistic. Prices will go up. They always do.

Fig123 06-19-2005, 04:28 PM Not to flame... Uh the STi has a lot more expensive parts than what the WRX has:
Sti=
1. Roof Diffuser
2. Transmission
3. Dccd/drive train in general
4. HIDs
5. Gauges
6. Suspension
7. Wheels and tires
8. Seats
9. Engine
10. Rear wing
11. Exhaust
12. Intercooler sprayer
13. Misc body pieces
14. Brembo Brakes
The list goes on and on. No way is the WRX even close to what an STi has. What makes the STi such a great value is that you could not build the same car yourself cheaper from a base WRX (including the brakes, engine, suspension, wheels tires and the whole lot).
C-daleRidr 06-19-2005, 04:41 PM How's the dollar against the yen these days?

Noob why don't you check out the new features of the new WRX.. The only differences that the STi has vs WRX is:
Sti=
1. Roof Diffuser
2. Transmission
6. Suspension
7. Wheels and tires
9. Engine
12. Intercooler sprayer
14. Brembo Brakes
I'd rather have 4 pots anyways :p
Mike Wevrick 06-19-2005, 04:59 PM I really can't see any big increase or they will lose sales. How many people pay much over invoice anyway?
dark knight 06-19-2005, 06:12 PM cars dont always go up, they often keep prices the same and add lots of value options to move older models, or they give you a rebate which is in essence a price drop, too bad GM didnt include Subaru in their employee pricing plan, isnt Subaru part of GM?

Not yet.
NextCar 06-19-2005, 07:59 PM Subaru discount program (http://www.imba.com/tcc/subaru.html) I really can't see any big increase or they will lose sales. How many people pay much over invoice anyway?
Just do a search "SUBARU DISCOUNT" and see. Many Nature organizations give member discounts that are similar to GM discount. YOU HAVE TO JOIN 6 mo ahead though. Up to $3k most Subaru TRY imba.com many other organisations give similar discounts.

OK.....it's a stretch (praying might help) but let's say they don't go up. There is still no way they will go down.
