I just received an accessport for an '02 wrx today and I'm having installation problems. I securely connected the test mode connectors and the initialization connector, but the accessport errors when I try to reflash the ecu. After the turn car off, turn car on step the accessport says error and to repeat the operation. I called Cobb and they told me to skip the turn car off, turn car on step, which I did but I still get an error. The accessport appears to be working fine as it turns on when the diagnostic cable is plugged in and I can select the map without a problem. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or has fixed this problem before. Thanks in advance.

same thing happened to me!It never worked trying everything CObb tells you etc!

I ended up having to get a new one(from where I bought it).Haven't had time to mess w/ it yet.Still sitting in my House.

Did you Marry it to the Car first?
or did you go straight to the CPU and download,then try to flash the map to the car?
Thats what I did...but I think I had a Bad batch.
never got it working..I damn sure hope it works w/ the new one.

I tried to marry it to my car first. I will end up sending it back to Cobb I'm sure. I wish they didn't send out defective units.
