I've heard the VF39 can max out the stock injectors. I know the 16g flows more air than the VF39. So, could I still buy a 16G, keep my stock injectors and just have my tuner tune the car so the turbo won't reach a point that it would max out my injectors? I would imagine the wastegate would be doing a lot of work to accomplish this. Any ill effects to doing this?

is this a td05/16g from deadbolt?

if so, you might want to check out http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/showthread.php?t=104377

bottom line is that the 05/16g is NOT as big a huffer as the numbers might make it seem.

a super 16g is another story: http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/showthread.php?t=107879

Great info! So the peak HP seems to be about the same as the VF34 but there seems to be more power under the curve. From what I've read, it's the mid range that may max out the injectors.

For a 2.5l motor, a 16g is pretty small, IMO, if you are still looking for low spool, a ej257 should have no problems pushing a 18g around.

As for injectors, if you are worried about that, you could always chop yours.

Since I have a FXT and not a STi, low end grunt is good when I load the car up. I'm not really looking for crazy amounts of hp. I'd be happy with around 320 hp to the crank.

As for chopping the injectors, that would mean down time for the car and extra expense. I would want to get them tested and cleaned after they are cut. That's another week without a car. Then I have to drive to the tuner running the modded injectors. Not sure if its worth the hassle.

truth is the diff between the fxt and STI is negligable
fxt has low gear ratios and the sti has six speed (also low gears +6th)

the td05 will certanly be more fun than the td04 though

the td05 is also close to the limit of your 5 speed (and clutch)

So far Dave at Kingpin is telling me this is possible so I've sent them more details and awaiting response. I normally drive very tame and don't launch the car much at all.. I've done it maybe 4 times since I got it and they weren't abusive launches. I don't think the clutch will be an issue. I'm worried about the engine blowing up.. =P
