I'm most likely going to purchase a 2.5RS soon, but I was just wondering what your experiences with these dealers were, and any you would like to add that are in the vicinity of the Bay.

I've been to Ron Price once, to check out a WRX (turned out to be too $$ for my budget). A lady (forgot her name) helped us out to the car lot to check out a WRB WRX A/T. She was very nice with us checking the car out and everything. Too bad we didn't end up driving the car off the lot that day :(

Please list you past experiences! Thanks!

I had a pretty friendly experience buying my STI at Ron price about a week ago, though they were set on their price, and would not take any haggling, except on upgrade stuff which was prob marked up as hell to begin with. Plus they tried to weasel me into buying stuff i didn't need, but I guess that is how all car dealers act. I had a pretty decent expericence there, mainly cause their they had no added markup above msrp, and they had a good selection.

I got my 05 rex from ron price too. +1 for pushy people who KEEP trying to sell extended warrenty and other crap even AFTER you tell them you don't want one three times. I was close to getting up and walking out because they pushed for this junk so hard. If I could do it over again, I might have gone with ordering a car from Carlsen in Redwood City.

Were they pushy/rushing while/if you were checking out a car?

Not as bad while buying the car, it was after I had decided to buy the car that they made it difficult. I ordered my car from Japan so it would have what I wanted on it (ss, auto dimming mirror, armrest ext... ect) so that wasn't a problem. They just keep pushing all their paint protection and crap on you, even after you tell them five times you don't want that stuff.

Ron Price is the worst dealership....they're either pushy or won't acknowledge you're there, and good luck with service. They installed my OEM kit wrong and wouldnt fix it. I brought the car which was only 2 months old to Carlsen who called the district rep, who approved the repair of Ron Prices mistake, and got me a free rental car. Screw Ron Price!

Livermore Subaru and the sales guy I dealt with there Sam Levy was incredibly easy-going and very friendly. I don't know if they're bad during the sales process, but they left a very good impression in terms of explaining features and answering questions. The only reason I didn't buy from them was that AutoWest Subaru up in Roseville made a better offer, were equally awesome, and I live in Sacramento so it would be a lot closer. If you happen to check out AutoWest Subaru, I dealt with Eric Rasmussen, who was easily the most patient, zero-pressure salesman I've ever dealt with.

I tried buying my WRX at Livermore Subaru, we were standing in the show room for 30 mins and no one came to help us out (there were no other customers). We had to walk up to a sale person on there desk and he didn't even want to talk down the price at all with $3000 down. He said, this is the price, take it or go else where. We left went to Albany Subaru and bought it from guy name Steve. He was cool, even gave us a break on the price before we even asked.

Drive down to Subaru of Santa Cruz. Those guys rule. I liked them so much I used to drive from Walnut Creek to Santa Cruz to have them change my oil.

A little crazy, yes....but they were cool. Nice drive too.

try Myers at Albany subaru. He's low key and if you tell him you're from one of the Impreza internet forums, he'll take care of you.

When i was shopping for my 05 STI Ron Price was the first dealership i went to. Their service is slow and ****ty and they were willing to negotiate very little with their prices. I spent about 5 seconds with the salesperson before i walked out. I would not recommend anyone to go to Ron Price to purchase a car. It just sucks

Sant Cruz is by FAR the best.

Avoid Steven's Creek like the plague.
