Today when I went to the mall, I came to a stop at a stop sign. When I went to go, I was still in second gear (it's a 5 spd) and when I released the clutch kind of fast, a loud cracking noise came from the dash. It wasn't the "thud" that arises from quick shifting but rather a cracking noise or crunch. It's not my keys because I only had 1 key, the Ignition key in the ignition with no others. Please help.

Maybe you disloged something or cracked it inside the dash area. I have some rattling and weird noises in there also

Maybe something in the glove box ot the dash compartment? I thought something was rattling in my engine until I took my sunglasses out of the dash compartment to wear them.

Hey man ...did ya check in the shifter boot???The first week i drove my five speed i had an annoying rattle, it sounded like it was coming from the dash ..near the radio...turns out i had some loose change sitting in the boot of the shifter down in the cloth...it drove me nuts for a week...i kept holding the dash and radio to see if i could find it...but it was just change enought to buy me a coffee too ...hehe
