hey guys I am from msprotege , I recently upgraded my mazdaspeed protege with an emanage and stock wrx 440 injectors, now I am looking to upgrade them once again. What injectors can I get that are #62 or #65 that are a direct drop in for the WRX? that means it will be a direct drop in for me then :) the stock wrx ones fit pretty much perfectly in the protege

I got a new built motor and GT2871R that I plan to push to the limit :) hopefully close to 400whp, not much compared to what you guys can do but oh well it will still be fast lol

oh and I want high impedance injectors cause I will swapping to the AEM as well and dont want to screw around with a resistor pack

thanks guys

Well to be honest I don't know the conversion from #62 to cc's but you can find various upgraded injectors that drop in to a WRX at http://www.gruppe-s.com/Subaru/subeng.htm ranging from 565cc (JDM STi Pink injectors) to 800cc (from Power Enterprise)

cool thanks man, what about these dual stage injectors how well does that work? I mean one of the biggest issues with larger injectors is the idiling and start issues. My stock injectors were only 280cc so going to 660 is a huge jump :)

I'm not sure if you know this or not but you can mod the 440's you have now for free. Do a search for modded injectors to find out how, they end up being about 820cc. They will be harder to tune.

Yeah I know about that trick, but I would rather go the safe route, the reason I am really interested in these is because of this dual stage option, that should make the car much more driveable. Right now even with 440 injectors my car does not idle the best so I expect that to be worse with even bigger ones.

lb/hr * 10.5 = cc/min

So the 62# = 651 cc
65# = 682.5 cc

The STi pink injectors are drop ins for a WRX. They are rated at ~550 cc at 43.5 psi. PE makes 650s, but they are the dual stage and tuning on them can be very tricky. Ultimate Racing makes some drop ins too I believe.

Going off of the online fuel injector sizing calculators is shows you would need ~745 cc injectors to make 450 chp (with a 95% duty cycle, 0.6 BFSC).

that about sums it up
one thing to note is that pinks 550cc are relitivly cheep the PE and UR are not ...

nice link mbiker97 :) ouch those are big injectors, I know a guy that did 350whp on 440cc injectors but he maxed them out and that was using race fuel. I was hoping that 680 would be as big as I had to go but now I am rethinking that

Well those are also rated at 43.5 psi (3 Bar) fuel pressure. If you were to get an adjustable rising rate fuel pressure regulator then you could run more fuel pressure and essentially make your injectors larger.

Race fuel uses a lot less fuel than pump.

another thought is to contact RC engineering. they make injectors that drop in IIRC they weren't too much more than the pinks
