I don't know what type of dyno this is but I was told from the shop that a stock sti will dyno 235 whp there.
so can I hit 300 whp with these mods?
bren wrx 06-23-2005, 02:19 AM depends on the bov fluid
zigger 06-23-2005, 02:21 AM anyone else.. you are a retard buddy..
bren wrx 06-23-2005, 02:25 AM that car COULD hit 290-300 ish on a higher reading dyno be it land and sea or dynojet/dynapak
zigger 06-23-2005, 02:37 AM yes or no?
on that dyno..
knowing that a sti dynos 235 whp
will these mods hit 300?
palmerx141 06-23-2005, 02:43 AM depending on where the car is dynod and what kinda dyno it is. On a kinda high reading sea level dyno then yeah prob.

That won't work because the answers already been given, its just not wrapped in a pretty bow like he expected :D
zigger- The guy who runs the dyno might not even have the answer until he actually runs the car on the dyno (hell call him tomorrow and ask).
A question for you: Why does it matter what it dynos? I know you probably already understand how a dyno works and you know its a tool simply for tuning, but numbers really don't mean anything except for the ones from the track. If you want a piece of paper that says 300+hp call around places with land and sea or dynojet dynapak so you get what you want to hear.

I would say NO.
jaxscuby 06-23-2005, 06:53 AM I would say NO.
maybe 260~270whp..
on our dynapack, sti outs down 235~245whp..
mbiker97 06-23-2005, 10:04 AM Maybe with a Blitz BOV instead of the HKS.
boxered 06-23-2005, 10:55 AM Don't do it..your speed alarm might go off.
No way on a Mustang Dyno!! Perhaps on a dynapak.
AspWhtRex 06-23-2005, 11:22 AM CBRD on here hit 296whp with a turboback, utec, and his air/water ic setup and this was on a mustang dyno to
BREWPUBEAVER 06-23-2005, 11:50 AM it is not the numbers from the dyno that make the car go fastar. it is the one behing the wheel. yea you have an sti and you did some mods. big deal. take a driving coures and do some track days and autocrosses. that way you will have an idea of what you can do with just some skill. and dont cry when you get spanked by that little miatta that is N/A
louiethasti 06-23-2005, 05:34 PM add typhoon and turbo inlet, and youll have a better chance....

Seems like it will be close on pump gas, but on c16 i would say you can definately surpass the 300 whp mark.
Just got back from the Dyno...
3 different hp and tq levels:
* TBE, CAI
271whp 287wtq
* TBE, CAI tuned for 91 CA gas
290whp 317wtq
* TBE, CAI 100octane
318whp 352wtq :D
Must say thanks to the Harman motive crew. Per Dan Harman stock STIs put down about 240whp on his dyno.
I have the dyno graphs just need a place to host them for me...

PDXTuning 06-23-2005, 07:59 PM Stock STi's make 238 to 245 on our Mustang Dyno. With a free flowing TBE and properly tuned reflash we typically see 285 to 290 whp and wtq on 92 pump.
The same cars with the same reflash will gain 20 whp and wtq with 104 octance. Two recent examples made 311 and 316 whp up from 285 and 295 whp respectively on pump. This is the same reflash with dynamic timing maps optimized to take advantage of high octane. The increase in HP took 5 to 7 pulls on the dyno...
For dyno results see:

BOV optional ;)
Good luck

wrxin8or 06-24-2005, 01:20 AM Scott at SoG has put out a few STis with just turboback, fuel pump, and ecutek that have put down 300whp, and usually quite a bit more wtq. From what I have heard, he does not recommend headers on a nearly stock STi. If I remember correctly, the only STi that he tuned that did not break 300whp was one with headers. Then again...I could very easily be not knowing what I am talking about....
Oh, and dynos vary too much....where are you located because that plays a big difference on whether or not you will hit 300whp.
tsubaru02 06-24-2005, 02:49 AM i hope it will
