The idles nice and lumpy with the DPR stage 4 cams at around 800-900 RPM.
The motors quiet even with the all the high hp prep. that went into it, with no smoke to be seen
Now time for about 1000 break-in miles before we see what this mother can do on the dyno and racetrack ;)

yardiewrx 06-23-2005, 01:25 PM You are breaking it in for 1,000 miles?Rather long don't you think?
You using utec?
BillyC 06-23-2005, 01:41 PM awesome car. I bet that bugger will fly!!
Only one problem I see- the CAI- it's too long and your car is no longer SYMMETRICAL !!! OH N03S!!!!!!! HOW WILL TEH SYMMETRICAL AWD WORK?!!? ;)
T3RMIN4L 06-23-2005, 01:55 PM congrats mark!
Javier 06-23-2005, 02:02 PM Looks awesome! I would be scared to drive that car with the intake so low
Phatron 06-23-2005, 02:11 PM Looks awesome! I would be scared to drive that car with the intake so low
You just have to make sure you're hauling azz when you go through a puddle so it atomizes the water and acts like water injection.
KINGSKY 06-23-2005, 02:16 PM phat a$$ ride....
good job....
RANDi
cronic 06-23-2005, 02:17 PM Who built it? And who is set to tune it?
Custom Kit?
Good luck, i am sure we will see some track times out of you!

The motor was built by DPR...The heads were ported by Dan :D
The shop doing all the work/tuning is S-squared in Sacramento.
The turbo kit started life as Gruppe-S kit.
We swtiched over to GT35r....fabbed up supports for the bigger turbo,
Then we did some fab work on the uppipe and added a tail 44mm wastegaste vrs the 38mm, and we also made the trick one off cold air/ram air intake...that sits behind the foglight cover ;)

dlowman 06-23-2005, 04:13 PM Mark you are really going to like this gt35r. It comes on soooo smooth. I am at 485 at 25psi on 100 octane on just a high boost map, no timing and stuff and the tires still won't smoke when it hits ;) Just get's up and flat out goes.
MARKGSTI 06-23-2005, 04:15 PM http://my.execpc.com/~pbedard/stihotpocket.jpg
Here are the results of the headwork.
Some of you might of already seen these charts.

We are planin on pushin some high RPMs....it should make the 35R even sweeter once you take out some of the lag between shifts.
beavis820 06-23-2005, 04:28 PM any pics on what you used to support the gt35r, pics of the 44mm gate and how did u fit the ram air with the perrin?
i think you have what im looking to build... i have the gruppe-s kit with the gt30r .82a/r

No pics as of yet.
I can tell you that we had to put alot fab work into this setup.
Even since the pics were taken the car has been changed a bit, ever changing
n2xlr8n 06-23-2005, 04:43 PM Good luck with your break-in and tuning.
I'd be curious as to what type (top comp ring, specifically) rings you used, and how you plan to treat it during break-in. I'm using a ring package (1.2/1.5/2.8 Chrome plated top) I'm not terribly familiar with, and I'd like to get as many educated opinions as possible.

MARKGSTI 06-23-2005, 05:16 PM I have to give a BIG thumbs up to the guys @ S-Squared.
They have been the ones taken care of this project for me.
We have put alot work and time into this car...i'm sure it will represent them and the West Coast nicely ;)
Physics Junkie 06-23-2005, 05:30 PM Why the 0.82 instead of the 1.06 turbine housing if you plan on revving this motor high?
MARKGSTI 06-23-2005, 05:52 PM Why the 0.82 instead of the 1.06 turbine housing if you plan on revving this motor high?
The 1.06 would be the best for drag...but at this point i think we can hit the hp we are looking for with the .82.
If the .82 is to small...the 40r would be the next step.
ride5000 06-23-2005, 06:07 PM that head work seems very nice. big jump in exhaust flow.
look forward to seeing it in action.

illone 06-23-2005, 06:22 PM Just curious, why did you not just buy the Kingpin kit?
Those guys spent thousands of dollars worth of time and tuning on their 35R kit, and it's already pre-fabbed.
Just wondering.

No real answer to that one.
I like the fact that they are a local vendor.
I figure almost any turbo kit will need some fab work to a degree...more so if you desire to push the limits.

Cool. Best of luck with it, looks nice! That intake worries me a bit, but that piping is nice and shiny! Tuning that beast should be fun.
peace!
pbchief2 06-23-2005, 08:15 PM Now we just need numbers:D I think I'll go take a look at the finished product tomorrow/
2002WRXSTi 06-23-2005, 08:53 PM Might as well jump on here to see what happens after break in ;)
robertrinaustin 06-24-2005, 12:58 AM :) At least we know this one will make it to the track. :) I look forward to seeing the numbers. :)

After all, thats what the cars made for.

Thank you Sir,...
Once both our cars are tuned shortly,...we need to hit up the track and make a few suckas cry
Maybe we can even get Invisiguard to come.

Final pics...all wrapped up and set to go
Phatron 06-24-2005, 02:23 PM Any info on that wrap? I want to wrap all my intake and fmic piping.
thanks
powerleak 06-24-2005, 03:09 PM Hey Mark... looks great!!
take a drive and do a couple laps around lake tahoe to get her broken in so we can see your new times already!!
i have to get back to doing more web searching so i can find those thermal blankets you used on your piping :)
knucklesplitter 06-24-2005, 03:59 PM Maybe this is that fancy IC pipe wrap he used (click) (http://www.boostplanet.com/air_tube_shield.htm)
T3RMIN4L 06-24-2005, 04:01 PM looks like it to me.
mnavarro 06-24-2005, 04:21 PM Dynomite! That looks like the space shuttle now! :) Waiting for numbers/times, a lot of people are interested in your car!
yeager 06-24-2005, 04:32 PM that thing is set to fly.
i'm sure i speak for all of us when i say 'boo yaa'
Jimbo 06-24-2005, 05:49 PM Did you go with larger diameter IC piping on the cold side? If you did, I assume you tuned for the drop in pressure.
Jimbo
MARKGSTI 06-24-2005, 06:40 PM Did you go with larger diameter IC piping on the cold side? If you did, I assume you tuned for the drop in pressure.

Don't know.
I'll get all the specs when i pickup the car 2morrow.
SilverSurfer04STi 06-24-2005, 07:12 PM Haha...
I have reflective heat wrap on my IC pipes as well. Looks exactly the same, except I used the reflective faced wrap with the adhesive on the other side. I think it helps insulate the pipe a ton. I also have the pipes heat coated underneath the reflective wrap. I HATE heat...
Looks awesome dude. Good luck at the track after the break in session. I think you are gonna have an awesomely fast car!
