for those that dont know saabaru it is the saab 9-2x aero which is the same as the impreza wrx wagon.

aight first off, i have a part time job at best buy so i get crazy accomodations on most stuff there. They will be installing everything with me looking at every step.

Sorry i cant give out exact prices, could get fired for that.

here the products:
HU: Alpine cda-9855 OR Pioneer avic-n2
Changer: Alpine Ai-net 6-disk changer CHA-5634
Amp 1: My old 5-channel Alpine MRV-F357 for the front comps
Amp 2: Alpine class D 900watt amp MRD-M605
Cap: Rockford .5 farad cap cpco5-03
Fronts: Alpine 6.5 component spr-17ls type R
Rears: Leave the stockers and fade them out
Sub: Alpine 12" dual voice coil 4-ohm SWR-1242D type R
Box: Q-logic 12" sealed or ventilated enclosure qlh-1.2512
Power: Rockford 4 guage 800 watt power kit CP4CKDS
Extras: 1. Subaru silver din pop out for the extra space
2. Probably some distro block in the back
3. Speaker spacers for the front and some adaptors
4. Some generic best buy install kit for the HU
5. Thinken monster cable for the RCAs and speaker wire

Placement of stuff.

All amps in the rear plus sub. running power in the interior on one side of the car and audio cables on the other side. Cap will be screwed to the box and I am flirting with making a compact amp rack so that I can save as much space as possible. Doubt best buy does custom stuff. Maybe a neon behind the box....stupid or cool?

Questions for you guys...

1. You guys know any cool way to easily remove the sub and amps when in? Any cool like release type mechanisms you guys made or can be bought?
2. Is my placement of stuff good
3. Where should i put my changer? in the rear or in the glove compartment.
4. Which HU would guys choose, I hate the flipout screens but navigation seems really cool (avic N-2). Then again i hear great great things about the alpine unit and it would also be compatible with the changer for mp3 stuff right? lets not forgot prolly like a 600 dollar difference too.

Thanks guys really appreciate it, I have a feeling that I will be posting a lot more in the future.

Don't laugh, but some industrial strength Velcro will hold down a lot of things. Might be worth checking out, depending on the size/weight of your stuff.

well, honestly i tried velcro on my old stuff and it just melted off when it got really really hot inside. so i just drilled some holes into the floor paneling....not the cleanest but effective

fine choices, you'll be happy with either although personally I'd go with the pioneer.

Amp 1: My old 5-channel Alpine MRV-F357 for the front comps

not a big fan of alpine amps, but they should work well enough. Maybe look into rockford if BB still carries the high power ones.

Cap: Rockford .5 farad cap cpco5-03
Useless, save your money

Fronts: Alpine 6.5 component spr-17ls type R
Rears: Leave the stockers and fade them out
Should be fine, I don't know what other choices BB has for component speakers, I'm a little biased because my old alpine speakers were terrible

Sub: Alpine 12" dual voice coil 4-ohm SWR-1242D type R
Box: Q-logic 12" sealed or ventilated enclosure qlh-1.2512
seem to be a big alpine fan, so no suprise here. If you gotta get alpine subs these are a good choice. The Q-logic box is crap, be prepared to add your own supports so it doesn't flex.

Power: Rockford 4 guage 800 watt power kit CP4CKDS

Save yourself money and get a wiring kit online. it will still be cheaper even with your discount. Wire is wire for the most part.

if you're concerned about saving space, why are you getting 2 12's? maybe its just me but the saabaru seems like too nice of a car to have a rattle system in, your car tho..

bro im getting one 12 and q box is not huge and really small so i thought flexing would be kept to a minimum???. really looking for sound quality over spl.

thanks for the recs. basically this is really all i can do at best buy, they really dont have a good selection. They do have nice rockford amps. I guess better amps are the rockfords so may switch based on your recommendations? I mean the wiring kit will prolly be like 35 bones....so why not just get it right. caps really dont do anything???? headlight dimming happens on my honda sometimes; peeps say i need a cap, you dont think i need one?

I have a fosgate 500a2 (birth sheet, 683w) and a fosgate 360a2 (birth sheet, 440w) running my system, and I've _never_ had the headlights dim, even at idle. And I turn it up plenty loud. :D

No you don't need the cap, but you should upgrade the Big 3 wires. Try reading through both of these links thoroughly to get some good ideas about some of this stuff.
