did you make these? if so, nice work. but the BEST CG cars ive EVER seen are from the anime "Initial D" its all about a trueno that beats all kinds of cars like skylines and such.

those look great.
i especially like the blue wrx making the turn, and although, the evo is in front of the wrx, it still looks fantastic.
i want to know if you made those too.

Gran Turismo 4: Gumby Takes the Wheel:lol:
Those pics were dope but very claymationish.

And Brian, please dont talk like that. Hearing other people depressed is very depressing and ive had plenty of my own moments. :( :(

Aren't the impreza lights supposed to only light up where the lights are and not where the blinkers are?, I think they look mad cool with just the area with the bulbs has light cuz it looks mean.

Yeah, that's pretty cool. Did you make the models yourself, or are they stock models from somewhere? Also, which modeling/animation program(s) did you use?

I'm in school for computer animation (a total beginner) and I've found that it doesn't really matter what program was used for the modeling. What really matters is the person doing the modeling, the number of polygons and the rendering engine. I'd be more interested in knowing how long each car took you, what method (box, Nurbs, etc), and what renderer RC used.

For those of you waiting to save up for a 3D program, you may as well practice while you're saving! There are a few free apps available, one of which is Blender (http://www.blender.nl). Check out the gallery on their website.

I just got the fist 10 eps of Initial D, and i hav to say its awsome. i say get the animé to everyone. its great, especially if you like cars.
I hav a question about the animé tho. in Gran Turismo 3, i hav the Trueno from initial D, but MY Trueno has a carbon Fiber hood and has a redline at 9k. does the Trueno in the animé get altered or something? im only at episode 7. very cool tho.

I've been trying to get a buddie of mine to model the WRX in Maya...

maya is the **** for modeling...

Yes, Maya is the shiznit, mang. I wish my school had it. The last time I checked we had SoftImage 3.x, Toonz (a sweet 2D app), 3D Studio Max 3.x and I think Lightwave. Have you seen the Maya book? It blows my mind to see that level of artistry...
