Are there any good Subaru related newsgroups. There is a hack for this forum software that lets you have newsgroups included just like a regular set of forums. You can post and reply like the normal boards.

I keep up with alt.autos.subaru. There's a bunch of good guys in there....and i-Club members too. ;) They are a lot of help, especially with older subies.

Yup, alt.autos.subaru is good stuff. There are some good rally fan newsgroups, too.

I popped into alt.autos.subaru but I didn't see much in the way of aftermarket support... very possibly, I looked too quickly. :lol:

Well... I'm working on installing the hack... we'll see how it goes.

Most of the people on alt.autos.subaru aren't performance oriented. Its mostly old school -- pre-1990, and a few people come in with their WRXes.

Is there anything on DejaNews?

can anybody give me the NNTP server for accessing the alt.autos.subaru? Can't seem to find it in my current NNTP server.

Well after installing the server upgrade last night (which was made some really nice admin changes)... I also put on the Usenet hack... now I just need an open, free news server that has alt.autos.subaru... it can't be read only either or it won't send out posts back out to the newsgroup.

Anyone have one that we can use?

I've used the one at syracuse university in the past for personal use. I'm not sure how any of them would respond to a hundred posts a day, though. If you're going to use a free NNTP server, then, like free ISPs, you've got to be tolerant of outages because they come and go without warning.

I used to read in that group too! (These days I just use newsgroups to d/l valuable stuffs)

Lemme see if I can find some reliable news server, which is free that is.
