I was scrubbing for like 2 hours yesterday... :furious: Is there a spray that cleans that stuff off with minimal scrubbing or am i damned to scrubbing for etenity

gregr01 07-03-2005, 02:22 PM eventually you'll be, eh, whatever, and wash it once a week.

AndyH 07-03-2005, 09:06 PM P21S wheel cleaner works well for some people. Me, I just use car wash soap and a sponge once a week. Protecting your wheels with WheelWax, Klasse or Rejex also helps to keep some of the brake dust from sticking, making cleanup a bit easier.
WRX 2NV 07-03-2005, 09:33 PM You might try waxing your rims so the brake dust won't stick to the rim but rather the wax - it should make it easier to remove.
RoadKillSTi 07-03-2005, 11:18 PM waxing the rims really helps. Not only does the dust not stick as well but it cleans a bit easier.
Gfunk720 07-03-2005, 11:54 PM Yeah, get some poorboys wheel sealer and put 2-3 coats on after polishing your rims
I havent had to do anything but wash mine with my regular car wash/sponge and they are still looking perfect. Road grime and brake dust struggle to adhere to this stuff, and anything that does easily rinses away

Bad Idea

This plus lower dusting pads are the only solutions I am aware of.

well when you're rocking steelies, you don't really care too much about the finish. :)
BlackedOut REX 07-04-2005, 04:10 PM they make brake dust repelent, i dunno if it high temp tho because it is meant for your wheels not your brembo's
EarlQHan 07-04-2005, 06:14 PM The brake dust doesn't bother me as much as the BBS wheels which make it impossible to clean
slvrwrx04 07-09-2005, 04:01 AM I had the same problem myself on my 2005 STI...I solved it by buying some Volk Gram Lights....5 spokes is much easier to clean versus 10 spokes...

I use P21S and a wheel brush. It takes about 3-5 minutes a wheel, but it gets it all off. The longer you wait, the harder the dust sticks, though :(
Mrfairlady 07-09-2005, 10:51 AM <--HAWK HPS no dust for weeks!
Way better than stock Brembo pads
