I am getting ready to get my EGT gauge installed this week sometime. I have been reading on the forums about where to have the sensor installed. It seems like there are a few choices of locations. The Uppipe, or the manifold. My question is which would be the prefered location to do this. The shop thats doing the install was suggesting the uppipe but i tend to lean toward the manifold. Which would be the better of the two, and if it is the manifold what is the best location for it?

The manifold is the proper location. The uppipe bung is only for the factory EGT probe which is intended to monitor the temperature of the uppipe catalyst, you won't get accurate EGT readings there for a gauge.
A search will turn up numerous threads discussing this.

Yeah manifold cylinder #4 since it runs the leanest, that is the cylinder you would tune to and want to monitor the closest
cylinder #4? Alright, thats driver side manifold correct? If so would it be the cylinder closest to the front bumper or the driver?

I thought that the #3 cylinder was the problem one?????? That is where my egt sensor is located, three inches off the block.
